What resolution did you choose ? FB cover is 850x 315.

Its the resolution, i had the same problem with some. Try 960 x 230, worked for me.

As far as I know, the size for Facebook ~timeline covers has to be 851px x 315px. Every pixel counts

851x315 @ 72dpi saved as a png gives really crisp images, i presume it's the fact you guys are saving at 300dpi and then that image is having to be down sampled to 72dpi that is giving you the quality issues ^__^

There are a few things that could be causing the problem. 300dpi is for print, on screen works to 72 dpi so changing the image to that could work for you (make sure resample image is not ticked) Another problem could be the way you have saved the file, try using the save to web option rather than just the normal save. This will optimize your image for web. Sometimes the image can have to many shades of a colour and there for the quality gets reduced, you can control this within the save for web option. Also make sure your colour mode is set to RGB.

Will give the save for web option a try - had already tried the rest - cheers

Tried all this - still uploading in poorer quality than designed.
