Anyone who criticises the manager for those defensive lapses is a berk. That is purely down to the individual and their concentration levels.

As for the 2nd goal a good goalkeeper would have saved it.

I hear you but when these lapses happens in almost every f*cking game these are more than just individual lapses.

I love Brendan Rodgers but starting Brad Jones has cost him 4 points in the last two games. 4 of the 5 goals he has conceded would of been saved by a decent keeper.

I was thinking the same, Sol.

10th at Xmas(if Chelsea win as you'd expect). Not really good enough.

Some good football today but toothless up front and not able to defend. It's like Brendan's first 6 months in charge which is a bit shite considering he's been here for 2 and a half years and had 5 transfer windows.

How were we toothless?

We scored 2 and Lucas, Markovic and Borini all had really good chances.

That was a frustrating game, Arsenal got 2 undeserved goals (why do they always play better against us instead of against Chelsea or Man United every bloody season?!). Boxing Day's game shouldn't be as gruelling, no disrespect to Burnley who have a good home record!

Some great positives Lallana, Coutihno, Sakho, Sterling but we cannot play Gerrard and Lucas together they cannot last 90mins, Lucas was shagged at the end and could of cost us. We deserved that and more, great to see some passion Borini silly yellow but could of been a straight red.

Er, what?

Wat? You must be joking? Much better performance, that 1st-half perhaps the best we have played at home this season. This is the way to go. Unlucky not to get the win. But much much better.

We dominated and played well, yet we're terrible in both boxes, for me we deserved nothing as we were inept in the most important areas of the pitch.

We are better than arsenal with no striker or defense. That says a lot to me

We were even better than them when we had 10 men.

Borini needs to be fined for the first booking. Yes it was our throw but he needlessly got booked and then sent off.

We played very well, disappointed not to get the 3 points. But I can proudly say that it was a joy to watch us attack again.
BTW, I love and hate Skrtel so much and we can never fault the passion that Borini brings.

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Or you could argue it's the linesmans job to spot those things - he didn't. Oliver had to give a lot of decisions cos his linesman did fuck all...

Utter relief but...

We have a manager who does not know how to coach a defense.
This is his 3rd year - same questions every week...
Just look at the 3 defenders ball-watching for their 2nd goal.
I'm so angry at Kolo for that goal!  :no

He "lets" it go past him.. then realise "Oh shit! I should have stopped it!"  :no

EDIT: Come to think of it- he headed it back across for Arsenal for the first goal!

mother of god.

deserved at least a point, would have fucking wept had we lost that.
Agreed, point was fair result. Defeat would have been catastrophic and really would've put our season at rock bottom. We performed really well in terms of our movement and interplay up until their first goal. Arsenal didn't have a sniff for long periods of the game. Performance wise its better but ye gods we have such a soft underbelly, we're struggling to score as it is and to concede soft goals like we do is so self-defeating.

Got ragged in the second half and frustating to drop points in a league game yet again but considering our dire situation its not a bad result.

And I think that's the last we'll see of Fabio Borini in a Liverpool kit.

It would be hard for anyone to convince me that the referee was not a bloody cheat. There's no way that was a red card if he didn't send Flamini off. And there were several other decisions that mysteriously went Arsenal's way. The officiating in the PL is a joke.

Take off your red glasses. Flamini red would have been soft whereas Borini was lucky it was not straight red. Borini acted like a mad dog for his 5 minutes on the pitch.

We didn't deserve to win. You don't deserve to win a football match because you done the attacking things right. It's a game of attacking AND defending. And when you can't defend simple crosses and other routine passages of play then you don't deserve to win.

A draw was a fair result.

At the end of the 1st half there were dozens slagging off Skirtel for his performance, just watch the same ones come in now and praise him.
In fairness  his defending was terrible for both their goals.

really? Skrtel has made many many errors over the past 2 seasons i doubt he'll get praised in terms of being defensively solid because he evidently is not

One question for the ref. why did he give a free against Flamini for his challenge on Llanna? If it was for a flaying elbow then not booking him is a complete abdication of his responsibility. If it wasn't for a flaying elbow then what was it for?

Our defenders don't bloody communicate. Defending an attack is a group activity, you want to create order out of a mass of people, talk. Our shape isn't good enough, and then once we have numbers back, we don't fucking talk to each other, tell your teammate who's around you if he hasn't spotted it. For the 2nd goal Skrtel should have read the play, saw that Toure was there to cut out the line of the cross and got tight on his man, he didn't read the play but there was nothing between our defenders either to help each other out, to point him where necessary. It's pathetic.

Lallana is Liverpool's best player for me along with Sterling.

Borini tried to show he cares, you have to question if it was genuine passion or acting. The stupidity of his first yellow card is indescribable.

It's stupid but more understandable than the second for sure. The first he works back and wins the ball perfectly, and the ref makes a huge mistake in a crucial part of the game.

Start Skrtel off with a bandage every game. Seems to up his performance by about 50%.

On a more serious note we've looked a lot better in the past few games (even against Man Utd), get ourselves sorted with a new striker in January and go for the Europa.

We are starting to see glimpses of last season's style of play. Rodgers needs about 2/3 players to get us playing that free-flowing football. We need a DM, mobile striker and we should be back to something approaching last season's game. I've been encouraged since Raheem has played upfront, it has changed our game. He is not the answer, in that he is not a finisher, but Timbo was not far off, just a bit of pace, some darting runs, stretch play, and all of a sudden the rest of the side starts functioning. Contrast that to Lambert/Balotelli playing upfront and what that did to our free-flowing fluid attack? Encouraged.
The courts, the rich, the powerful or those in authority never lie. It has been dealt with 'by the courts' nothing to see here run along.
