A question out of curiosity for US Reds fans.  If you could get every Liverpool game for an entire year on one channel, what would you be willing to pay for that service?

Probably more then I should.

I currently pay around $18 per month across CBS All Access, Peacock, and ESPN + plus I pay for Youtube TV which is $65 per month.

I'd probably pay upwards of $120/year for dedicated Reds matches.   So about $10 bucks a month.  I'd already save $$ because I'd drop Peacock and CBS all access in a heartbeat...

BTW - steaming continues to dominate this sport.   Dozens of friendlies/UEFA matches the past 2 weeks with a rare few getting on ESPN 2 and the rest on ESPN+.  Really nuts...

$120 per year.

$240 per year if there was no commentary and just the sound from the ground or the commentary of LFCTV.

I think we all would thats my point. The next question is would this be possible?  A team Channel.  I would pay 200-300 dollars knowing every game would be on my TV, not phone or tablet etc.

It would not be a club channel.

Some people have cut the cord.

Then you have what provider issue..all the various cable companies and satellite tv options.

Easiest way is via official stream and/or club website.

Here's the problem though.

Imagine if every club did that. If you wanted to watch a match like Man Utd v City, Arsenal v Spurs, Barcelona v Real Madrid, and on and on.....you'd have to pay again. Not to mention any Internationals, World Cup, etc..The net effect might be you'd end up paying way more in the end.

But if all you wanted was LFC matches, you'd save.

It's really a question of can it be cheaper than it is now and possibly more user friendly as US based LFC fans already can get every single LFC game without any issue.  I really question if cheaper is realistic with the way things are going so it would be more just about user friendliness as having to hop between NBC, Peacock, CBS All Access and ESPN+ just during a normal week is kind of annoying.

Imho..the only way that the Premier League clubs would vote to have clubs stream their own matches is if revenue sharing was part of the deal.

By that I mean something similar to what Baseball has with the luxury tax.

Big clubs like Liverpool would have vastly more subscriptions than small clubs like Everton.

So after X amount, whatever the club gets beyond that threshold a % would be sent to the league to be distributed among those that are below the X threshold.

They are making it so hard for the diehard fans to access premier league and CL games.   I can only imagine this is hurting them drastically with casual fans or potential new fans.  If the idea was to grow the sport here in the US, making everyone subscribe to multiple streaming services ain't helping.

I don't know, hasn't it been going this way ever since NFL Sunday Ticket worked?   I get your point but then I look at my teenagers and neither of them use anything other than a streaming service for 90% of their viewing habits.  Growing the game is going to require reaching those people not having it on free over the air channels that people are watching less and less of in my opinion.

It's always interesting how much signals are delayed. Of course it's live to you as you watch but you need to stay off the net so you don't know what is happening.

Just bored and decided to a test this morning with the Chelsea v Spurs match.

Watching Univision on my tv with my digital antenna v watching Slingtv through Firestick 4k.

The over the air tv feed is 2 min 15 sec. ahead of Slingtv.

I don't mind the delay between streaming and cable so much as the drop in picture quality.  It's not always a big deal but even on the same platform the stream quality can seemingly vary wildly to where I question sometimes if it's even in HD.

The well-informed rumors going around are that NBCSN's days are numbered. Within the next 12 months, it will be gone, and PL matches will then be divided between Peacock (primarily), USA, and NBC network.

John Ourand, whose beat is sports media, also predicts in this article that a new 6 year deal will be struck between the PL and NBC Universal, with most games on Peacock. He explains why streaming is attractive to the PL, even if it isn't to us.
