According to the mirror Van Dijk has still not completed a training session. I think if he can't train properly tomorrow he will miss the final. Which will be a huge blow. Monterrey created chances but they don't have great goal scorers. Flamengo have a few in their team. They could score a couple of goals against us. We are gonna need to be clinical and outscore them, maybe need 3 or 4 goals if Van Dijk is ruled out. As we wont be keeping a clean sheet.

I think he'll play and it will be a massive boost along with our front three playing together too. He looked ok in the pics on the official website doing the interview with Wijnaldum and Nigel de Jong - he certainly wouldn't be taking part in anything like that if he still had flu (or whatever). It's not often in a career a player gets the chance to play in an official FIFA World final so he'll be desperate to play.

Know Flamengo were away early today. They’d gone by 9am local time

Klopp on Gini and Van Dijk: "We will see [if they can play]. Virg was part of training today, Gini had a session today. We have no new injury concerns. It was Wednesday night we played, now it's Friday, so we will use each hour for recovery. We will see who can line up tomorrow."

It does highlight how thin on the ground we currently are with CBs. We've been a bit unlucky and maybe we do need to look at bringing in a new one in January (but one that is up with VVD in quality).
