They are as bad a team as I have ever seen in the top flight. I'm looking for another 9-0 to be honest

Haven't been battered yet, were unlucky against Spuds & Utd

As long as the players don't see this as a routine win we'll be fine

3 points will do nicely- a top performance would be good we have enough to blow them away, but they are a plucky side as mote Holloway teams are, they will try and have a go at us at some point in the game so we need to make sure we score early.

Was going out with a girl from Croydon in 1990 when they beat us in the cup. She rang me straight after the game to take the piss

Then a couple of weeks later she finished with me.

IF YOUR READING THIS EMMA I HOPE WE STUFF YOU 10-0

This is by far the best thing I've read all week.

I really thought those names were poor enough for it to be obvious...Although I do quite like "Chomps" myself.

Not gunna lie, I got a good laugh out of chomps. Just too bad I was reading this in class and proceeded to make myself look like an idiot as the teacher was lecturing.

Sky Sports says Aspas "could start". I'll put that down to their utter cluelessness as I really don't see where he would get a spot in a 3-4-1-2. Although I'd want him to start in the hole I'd be surprised to see Alberto there. Pretty sure Hendo will be next to Stevie. Wonder who will be right wingback. Dunno if Moses has the engine

I would say this would be a perfect opportunity for Aspas to start a game. Also would be good to see Luis Alberto start as well.

Don't think this will be a routine game by any stretch of the imagination but as long as we keep the pressure on Palace during the game, i'm sure they'll buckle under the pressure at some stage of the game. Also with Suarez back that'll help heap pressure on their back 4 who will try and be as compact as possible when off the ball, his trickery will do wonders.

Obviously would like to think our lads have done some homework on them as well, we don't need another Southampton result and us underestimating them.

Sterling if we play a RWB.

There is an option to put Kolo Toure in the Lucas role too I guess.

Would like to see Alberto in the middle and Moses out right... Sterling hasn't shown anything this season to warrant a start.

A pen that you turn upside down so the bird's clothes disappear?

You ain't lived if you haven't had the joy of buying your woman an all over black rubber cat suit that she peels down slowly, all in one, in that exact same fashion. I haven't lived either.

Sky Sports says Aspas "could start". I'll put that down to their utter cluelessness

I think so too. They're probably putting 2 and 2 together (we're at home, Crystal Palace struggling etc, so we'll put out a league cup side. We won't. Well, I doubt it.) If he plays, surely it would be upfront tho. But maybe not. Maybe Rodgers thinks he could play in behind in this 3412. It straddles my Chris Morris-esque 'Sense-Ometer'.

I think Sterling for RWB will be the only change, Henderson in for Lucas. There is a case for Aspas doing Moses's role, tho I would prefer Alberto. Would like to see Aspas play some minutes up front mind, in for Sturridge after 70 when we're 3-0 up and he walks off just holding the back of his thigh a little... a cautionary subbing off.

The important thing is the result tomorrow. 1-0? Yes please.

I've seen this said before every single game we've played this season. Are we ever going to demand more from our team/club? You know, like a good dominant confidence boosting performance at home against a lesser opponent. Not just win the next game by any means necessary. Don't care about the performance or style of football, play like Wimbledon it doesn't matter. A scrappy 1-0 playing badly and holding on will always be enough for Liverpool. Surely we should want more.

Surely winning playing really good football that the players enjoy does.

Playing good football is nice, but winning trumps it in terms of creating confidence. That's partly why long ball teams are successful. Winning with ugly football still creates the confidence to go onto the next game and win that one, and the one after, etc. Conversely, playing really good football but not winning saps confidence like a cheap phone battery drains energy. Think of it as a 4-grid matrix:

Win well..............|........Win Ugly.....
|
-----------------------|-----------------------
|
Lose well..............|........Lose ugly......

Player will happily straddle any of the top two and gain confidence from it. Winning well is obviously ideal, but if you can't do that, winning ugly has just as much confidence-boosting effect. In fact, it might be better at times to win ugly more, depending on the make-up of the team, because winning well can breed overconfidence (like the Evans team did at times - hammer a top team, lose to Norwich the next game, for example).

I don't want any undue attention from the media during the international break touting as possible champions and jinxing things. Lets fly under the radar until after January at least.

Reckon we'll see this tomorrow:

Mignolet

Skrtel            Sakho              Agger

Toure           Henderson               Gerrard               Enrique

Moses                                     Suarez
Sturridge

Toure at RWB just to give a bit more cover with Lucas being unavailable.

Thanks to everyone who still has an ongoing subscription, or has made a one-off donation this year: we had a great response in April that has seen us through the summer. Most subs have now been cancelled or failed, though, and at this rate we'll be in deficit by November. Tough times for all, but if anyone can, please do. Thanks.

Just read the Palace forum, they've got massive injury problems with only one fit CB,  they're rushing first teamers back from injury to play. They've called up two youngsters as well. The guy who got sent off at Old Trafford that sounds like a Pokemon won't feature either as he's injured.

I'm confident, they're going to play Jedinank (sp) at CB and he's not very good. Time will tell if Stuarez can do it.

With all due respect to Crystal Palace, but it is a bit too defensive to play 4 CBs at home to Palace regardless of the formation. Replace Skrtel with Toure and put Raheem "the dream" as a wingback.

Jedinak is a pretty decent holding midfielder but he's not brilliant on the ball and is prone to a rash challenge, his absence from midfield should also mean that Gerrard has the time and space on the ball he needs to play his current game, should be a fairly routine win hopefully!.
