In the third "invented in 1992" draft, we bring you the Gazzetta Football Italia edition.

This is a Serie A draft where you can pick any player who graced the league between the 1992/93 season and the present day. No football exists outside of this period.



Rules:

- Performances before the 1992/93 season do not exist. All players are judged on their form while playing in Serie A, that includes domestic cups and in Europe. e.g. If you picked Redondo, you'd get the crocked version not Hazell's flowing haired Real sex beast.

- You may pick no more than 3 foreign players in your side. The rest must be Italian or 'assimilated' (have played 10 consecutive seasons in Serie A). e.g. If Redondo had played for 10 seasons in Italy, without leaving the country, then you could pick him as an 'assimilated player. Meaning you can still pick a further 3 foreign players.

- Each player must have made a minimum of 50 Serie A appearances.

- If any players have been capped for more than one nation, they default to whoever they have the most caps for.

- 2 hours per pick in the first few rounds, then down to 1 hour once we're all up to speed.

- Draft hours are 9am - 11pm GMT

It's going to be tight, but I think there are just about enough of them to go around. The 10 season players will help a lot. Definitely expecting some less familiar names to get picked in this one though.

Hmmm not sure. We're judging on Serie A, so that would really throw a spanner in the works.

Max and Lone Star are the only other missing regulars I can think of, but both have been busy lately. We're at 16 now anyway, so we can start on Monday whether more people join or not.

Just an even number is generally good, as then no-one is getting a bye into the second round. We're on 17 right now, so one more or three, but not two

If someone can work out how to do 17 teams as knock-outs then that would be great, because I’ve been wracking my brains on it all weekend

That's not the issue. I just genuinely cannot work out how to make 17 teams go into 8. Giving byes doesn't help as that just put more teams through.

Draw for the order will be made at midday-ish tomorrow, so if anyone wants any rule changes then speak up before then.

Could change the number of years for assimilated players for example. Or add a wildcard. But this needs deciding before the draft starts tomorrow.

If you all fancy the challenge then we're good as is though.
