Look, I've found the FA Cup increasingly dull. From the hyperbole of the BBC every year, the cliches that are wheeled out, and the fact that it's simply not as special as the CL or the Premiership. As I've said, it's great when you get to the latter stages, but before then it usually feels a bit...mediocre to me.
At half-time in this game, I was a strange mixture of indifference and annoyance, largely aimed at messers Motson, Lawrenson, Wright & Lineker who have cultivated personas which are, during much of their TV time, really fucking dull and / or annoying.
Come the end, I have to hold my hands up and say that was fantastic entertainment. I'd still like to have seen more players rested (perhaps we'll see Hyypia or Carragher and Gerrard or Alonso left out of the starting line-up against Spurs) but as lacklustre as I've come to find the FA Cup, the second half of that game was fantastic.
