Its a bit mad, in the UK we have wall to wall coverage of this and other US news events but very little coverage of Ireland and France events, our neighbours. Id have a very wager on the average UK person couldnt name the Irish Taoiseach. Our discourse is very anglo-amercian, when there are various different ways of governing and ideas floating about just across the channel and all over the world. I suppose its easier because we have a shared language, we can instantly communicate and follow the US.
Like when we talk about Health care in this country, its either 'our fantastic wonderful NHS' or you want the USA model, when there different ways of implementing health care across Europe which are free at the point of use.
