Who should we buy
« on: October 12, 2010, 09:18:34 am »
I'm not saying this will happen but if NESV or Lim do end up taking over and giving generous funds to roy in order to strengthen the team, who should Roy buy.

Lets say he has 100mil, and it is a one-off, one-widow spending budget (in other words after the 100mil is gone we return to normal spending), and only a few players should be bought (max. 6-7)

Give the players name, previous club, and one sentance as to why its realistic and how the player would fit in

I'll start off

Xabi Alonso: Real Madrid, 30m.
Not in the first team at real madrid and not looking as though he will be anytime soon, would fit in with gerrard as he did before

Either Folan or Suarez (not both): Ajax/Atletico Madrid, 25-35m
Ajax have even worse financial problems than us so oculdnt refuse 20-30m for one player, and Forlan has expressed interest in returning to england, either could play alongside Torres

Ashley Young: Aston Villa, 20m
Could play left wing week in week out instead of our current rotation of average fill-ins or positional converts (Jovanovic, Babel, Maxi, Cole)

who do you think we should buy?
