Yeah...maybe only that.
But overall, very similar players. Maybe Stevie has a better shot?
I think Keita is better in tight spaces. Gerrard is better running into those spaces, if that makes sense.
Keita reminds me a lot of the kids I see play football in Brasil in the really bad areas. There is usually 1 or 2 in the group who can keep control of the ball when surrounded by 5 or 6 kids. Extremely strong core despite being wiry looking. They just dribble the ball around in the street. I don't think you can really teach that in an academy setting. I think you have to learn that in the street or futsal or wherever.
He is also outrageously ambitious. He said he wants to be the best footballer in the world, as successful as Messi. I found a quote about him also from coach Hasenhüttl, describing him as “an exceptionally gifted footballer that has an unbelievable elegance on the ball.” As a person, he is “a phenomenal guy, always sincere, always laughing, in a good mood and positive,” whilst Keita’s team-mate Marvin Compper recognises him as someone who is “ambitious yet humble.”
Interestingly I read that our favourite Hoffenheim manager who thinks we were "shit" wasn't happy about him.
His aggressive style wasn’t to Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann’s taste after he was left irked by Keita’s overzealousness in their defeat to Leipzig back in January but the Guinean took that as compliment.
Julian Nagelsmann will be getting a reputation as the German Mourinho if he keeps whinging like this. Although a fucking terrifically gifted coach I must say.
