Doom's gonna be a massive villain going forward so they maybe don't want to have him defeated right out the gate. Set him up at the end and have him basically have the role they'd earmarked for Kang.

Yep, getting Doom right is crucial to the future of the MCU IMO. I do not want to see a rush job as an immediate replacement for Kang. His story needs to be told across several films and built up in a similar way to Thanos was (and what they were trying to do with Kang). End credit sequence in Fantastic Four would be nice though.

Lazy casting would be just going with Krasinski again. Their casting is almost always on point, so I reckon Pascal will be good.

Krasinski would've been perfect

He looks the part but thought he was really bland in his admittedly limited role in Miultiverse of Madness.

Everyone knows it should have been Glenn Howerton anyway.

Yep, it was so bad. I went with my niece who is 9 and who likes Captain Marvel and she tried to cover her ears and eyes at that point, she was massively cringed out.

This looks fun

Just hearing the old theme again gave me goose bumps

Remember watching it back in the day and Gambit was always a favourite of mine - was disappointed when the Channing Tatum film with him didn't materialise like.

Looks like it should be class - even if it is more "easy watching" than "core" content

Pedro Pascal is way over exposed at this point, they clearly let the algorithm pick that one, very lazy casting.

I don’t know, he’s just a voiceover in Mando, and other than that TLoU is where he’s getting plaudits. It’s possible he was picked because he’s a good actor and fits whatever’s envisioned.

And in Game of Thrones, although that was a stupid death.

But those were years ago. I’m not seeing the over exposed thing, unless you (not you, duvva)just don’t care for him, which is fair enough.

That's bad but I suppose you can't account for what gets changed by re writes, re shoots, and the final edit.

I really don't think there's any excusing it. I took a quick glance and they've worked with a bunch of different production companies, either they're the unluckiest writing team to walk the earth or they're absolute garbage.

Morbius got an audience score of 71%?

It became a bit of a meme with the whole "It's morbin' time" joke so I think that bumped it's user scores up, Sony even re-released it in cinemas to capitalize on the mockery.

Just checked and I think I hit the nail on the head. Some 5 star reviews:

Quote
IT’S MORBIN TIME! This is the movie ever
Quote
Morbius is peak cinema words can’t describe how breathtaking dr morbius is an absolute pleasure for all shape and sizes I can’t wait for morbius 2 it’s morbin time

I'm actually quite keen on seeing Madame Web with some mates. More so than I've been for anything Marvel-related in a long while. Sounds like it's already getting laughed at in cinemas.

Seems to be firmly in the so bad it's entertaining camp, which is a lot more appealing than 'paint by numbers audience-tested to death, yet still bad'

Not seen Madame Web but from what I've heard I'm not sure you'll even have that ironic viewing fun with it.

I mean, I don't know if it's just me, but I thought this was a girl spider team up type deal but apparently it's not that at all and there's fuck all spider-man/girling going on, just Dakota Johnson having premonitions of stuff for two hours??

Randomly watched all Avengers again last night on one of them IPTV channels and its just sad how far Marvel have fallen, i mean those films were actually just unreal and even though i've seen them all a few times it still keeps me entertained.

I dont know how they'll ever get back to it, they seem to just be making bad film/tv one after the other. i think the Major's stuff will turn out to be a blessing as i didnt think the Kang stuff would've had the impact they were hoping for based on Ant-Man and Loki S2.

such a shame as well as going to a Marvel movie was like am event itself and getting good seats for opening day was like trying to get tickets for LFC!

I enjoyed the first episode of that.
found myself surprisingly tempted with it the other eve - i only saw the odd episode as a youngun, although i know/remember the basics, but never saw it through and wasn't a comics kid

but then I noticed all the original series is also there on disney plus. made me wonder if i should start there? or just dive in to '97, and go back to the originals if i like it?

any tips from more seasons heads appreciated!

I wasnt a comic book fan either but i remember that cartoon and really enjoyed it when I was younger. I am pretty sure that and the odd spiderman cartoon was the only one i watched.

I dont think every episode of that old series is on there, plus its a bit dated now.

Loved the old cartoon, Gambit was my favourite so it's always been a bit rubbish he's never made the jump to live action. They even had Channing Tatum attached to play the role only for it to all collapse.

Channing Tatum to me always felt not a great fit for Gambit. A bit too all American captain of the football team, a big traditional jock so to speak, where as gambit is a trickster, a charmer, a thief, a bit sleazy. Physically I always picture him as a bit thinner in build comparatively.

If I had to pick an actor on looks alone for him I would say someone like Austin Butler. Of course whoever would play a Gambit would need a deep Cajun accent.

Channing felt more fitting for a cyclops of anyone.

Absolutely love Gambit in the old cartoon, and as a character in general
