Didn't catch that match on MOTD last night, but what actually happened there? I'm guessing it wasn't as bad as Pardew otherwise it would have been all over the sports news today...?

[/quote]

I thought it was just as bad as the player did nothing wrong.  Mcarthur and a Leicester player collided near the touchline and Mcarthur accidently fell onto Pearson, whilst on the floor Pearson decided to grab the player by the throat, a member of the Leicester dugout tried to get Pearson off, as they got up Pearson had hold of the Martha r's arm and even as the player tried to re enter the pitch he refused to let go whilst mouthing off. He eventually let go and let the player run back on the field after more encouragement from one of his staff members.

Ah yes, the Cardiff route. Going to get an unproven manager, get relegated, then be shite next year.

Well Pearson's hardly 'proven' in the prem tbf

NOT SACKED.

Sky jumping the gun, although when news like this breaks and is denied, it usually happens soon after...

That's a mad one. He was giving Sky sports news stick a while back, slagging off the presenters and stuff. Maybe this is their way getting back at him. Heaping the pressure on

It wouldn't be a surprise.  Sky, the Mail, etc, are just propoganda machines creating their own stories rather than reporting news.   Look at how Neville, Yorke etc changed their tune from United being shite and not playing the United way to it being a hard fought important draw after a jammy equaliser.

Leicester should have sacked him.  His behaviour yesterday was just bizarre, he's clearly cracking up under the pressure.  He's an even bigger shithouse than Pardew in my opinion and that's saying something.

Most managers have a self important arrogance which is possibly a necessity to get them through the weeks and months of a highly scrutinised top flight sport, but Pearson is a tit.

It's more the self-important arrogance of the ex-player. The attitude some of them have to people who aren't "in the business" is astounding. Anyone who has done a coaching course with a few of them will know what I mean. You get the odd gem, but most of them live in a bubble where only their needs should be met, and everything should bend to their will, right or wrong. As long as you are doing something for them, they are great. If you're not someone that can do stuff for them, then for a lot of players/ex-players, you don't exist. Pearson seems an exact example of that cliche.

they guy took Leicester up last year with some kind of record points haul

a league notorious for being hard to get out of

his behavior now is ridiculous and to me seems clearly just a guy under huge pressure and acting like a bit of a tool

Pearson’s comments prompted Lineker to retaliate via social media. “We’d best be careful in future, the fella can look after himself,’’ Lineker tweeted caustically, rather forgetting that Pearson once fended off a pack of hungry wolves with a walking stick for five hours while backpacking in the Carpathians.

Really not sure where this club is heading now.

5 months ago they'd beaten Stoke away, tonked United and look safe bets for mid table safety. Now they're rock bottom after some truly awful results and after last weekend's antics when we heard the news it seemed like the logical decision.

Now it's been reversed what happens?!

What if they get spanked 4 or 5 by Arsenal tonight and go out of the cup to Villa on Sunday? Do they sack him again or is he safer now than ever because the club release how laughable it would be to go back on their decision again!

When Pearson accused Linekar of whipping up a media frenzy about the alleged strangle, Linekar retorted that if he wanted to whip up a media frenzy he'd report on how one of the owners sacked him (Pearson) and then another went and reinstated him.

I read it as him trying to antagonise McArthur to the point where he punched him to get himself sent off.  If you did that to players like Keane or Viera, even Balotelli - known combustible players - then presumably he felt 10v11 would probably be worth whatever ban he'd get for it.

All that seemed to occur was Pearson looking like a desperate manager willing to do anything to help his team win, and despite the players being afraid of him, if they don't start turning that into results soon they aren't going to have a chance of staying in the prem.  Their next run of games is absolutely brutal, with Arsenal, Villa and Everton all away, before they get to play Chelsea, Man City away and Tottenham at WHL.

The rumours (yes the famous kind) are that one member of the board told him he was sacked only to be overruled shortly after by one or more others,

If anything resembling the above is correct, it's well and truly shambolic

I'll never forgive the prick for making me side with Pearson.
"I was pleased also with Peter Crouch. We have been talking to him, before and after his nose operation, to show more confidence with his heading.

"Now it seems to have worked. Lets say that if he has a few games without scoring again, maybe we should arrange to break his nose again."
