As much as I remember, in the 90's there was a plan to build a new Main Stand ...

Yes, there was, but if memory serves me right they also included plans to re-build the Anfield Road Stand. Quite a big thing was made of it all by Moores and Parry. Quite sure it was around 1998/1999.

That looks aboslutely hideous from every angle. Including the two tiered Kop.

Why? Someone like Multiplex maybe?... It's got nothing to do with the nationality of the contractor and everything to do with the quality of the design information when the job starts and change control...

Its completely irrelevant.

HKS are our architects. Stopping huge chunks of stadiums falling down mid construction is the problem of the engineers of the lead contractor.

It's the new compact design. The aim is that on a non-match day it can be folded up as not to look out of place in stanley park.
