Surprised no one has pointed out that we as a team are really bad at playing out of a press with passing and movement. We couldn't build up through the midfield at all in that half. Alisson just stood there for ages looking for options, then he had to go long. People are trying to pin the problem to this player or that player but the real problem is the whole team and their coaching.

This is a larger issue because we prefer to go direct rather than play through. It's not going to change with so few games to go so we have to do what we can.

Hope it's highlighted at half time to slow it down somewhat.

Their closing down is unbelievable….i don’t think I’ve ever seen a team not give us a second on the ball.

They did the same in the first game.  They man mark and hang off the player and then press once the pass is sent.  That turn by Salah near the end is exactly what our players should be doing.  Use their pressing pace to take them out of the play.  Unfortunately, too many of our players are not playing quickly enough and are getting caught once the pass is received.  Jones has been guilty of this more than most.  Need quicker minds and feet in the second half, looking forward to Jota in the second half as he's great at these sort of plays.

Speaking of Salah, he has to score that chance.  The goalie has committed himself and is in no-mans land, making it easy for Salah to pop it over him.  Unfortunately, he hit it wrong and ended up missing the net.

I agree. Doesn't change the fact that both midfield and attack separately have their own problems, but whenever somebody presses our defenders while building up, we don't really know what to do. There is something off systematically this season.

We could do this, but need to do better in attack. Salah's miss was pretty bad and we could have been much closer.

You don't know that, it can come anytime and then he's right back on it again. It's not going to happen any quicker if he's sitting on the sub's bench, we need him back and firing. The likes of Jota and Nunez will get their chance as well.
