Latest Serie A news in the last week or so:
JUVENTUS
-
Guissepe Rossi could be moving to Juventus by the end of the week, the two clubs just have to agree a fee. This would probably put an end to their pursuit of Atletico Madrid ace
Sergio Aguero and Man City's
Carlos Tevez.
"This could be the week when a number of deals may be done, including Giuseppe’s,” representative Federico Pastorello told Sky Sport 24.
- Bayer Leverkuson's
Arturo Vidal is also interesting the Bianconeri and could make an offer now that the Copa America has finished.
-
Amauri and
Felipe Melo have been left out of the squad to travel for their US tour. They have both been linked with moves back to Brazil.
INTER
- The Italian Football Federation [FIGC] have confirmed that they are not able to strip Inter of the 2006 Scudetto.
- Sao Paulo starlet
Casemiro could be the latest Brazilian to join the Serie A, as Inter have confirmed their interest in the player. Casemiro is also keen for a move to the San Siro where he can join up with fellow youngster Coutinho.
- Marco Branca, Inter director, has stated that
Wesley Sniejder is 'not for sale'. Ferguson has also ruled out the possibility of signing him so it looks like the Dutchman is staying at Inter for the next year. (Overjoyed with the news, however with the money we would have received we most certainly have went for Pastore given his latest indication that he would like to stay in Italy).
ROMA
- Roma have confirmed their interest in Liverpool's
Emiliano Insua, but Ajax have closed off any discussions with the Romans about keeper
Maarten Stekelenburg.
- Roma are confident of signing talisman
Daniele De Rossi to a new deal, which currently runs out next summer. He has been linked with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United. (Never knew his contract expires in 2012, could be a great signing for a relatively low price though I'm sure he'll sign a new one soon)
THE REST OF THE LEAGUE
- Fiorentina has stripped Italian international
Riccardo Montolivo of the captaincy after refusing a new deal. AC Milan and Inter are circling. Teammate
Juan Vargas is also interesting Aston Villa after impressive performances at the Copa America with Peru.
"We have been clear with Montolivo. I asked his agent if he wanted to continue with us, but the response was that a decision has been made," Corvino told Sportmediaset.
"Having looked at Montolivo's will, we will now see what solutions the transfer market offers us. We only want motivated players for our future- Portuguese keeper
Eduardo is headed to Benfica on a one year loan deal from Genoa after a horrid season in goal.
- Siena young gun
Souleymane Coulibaly has signed with Tottenham after an incredible U17 world cup. (Would've loved to see him in action in the Serie A where he would have had more a chance to break in the first team than at Spurs)
- Milan are unlikely to make a move for Napoli's
Marek Hamsik, Brazilian
Ganso is looking the more likelier option.
