What an absolute unit. He looks bigger than Van Dijk and that's saying something. Showed good pace and absolutely monstrous in the air. Ronaldo tried to get at him but got absolutely nothing. Still needs some more time to get used to the line and discipline, but give him a few more games and he's probably got everything you'd expect from a Van Dijk regen.

Good problems to be had at CB for Jürgen.

apart from the disallowed ronaldo goal (should've done better there), had a strong game, pacy, strong, saw danger early, good in the air and that's hell of a game to be thrown into as your first league start (it was his first wasn't it?)

anyway, he's gonna have much harder games but i liked what i saw and i saw what i like

Really impressed me today. I was concerned he may not be ready yet, but looked like he’s been there forever. I’m sure he’ll have bigger tests, but given it was what his third start for us? That was excellent. We are fuckin spoilt at CB, might have the best 4 in the league

Thought it was interesting that Jamie Jackson of the Guardian mentioned an error he made early on which led to the Fernandes chance. I’m not one to usually take any interest in how journalists or pundits analyse our performances, but I actually don’t think that particular incident was any more worth of a mention than anything else which happened in that move.

Konaté doesn’t do great, going to ground leaves you vulnerable, but Henderson and Trent could also do better at stopping that ball from coming back inside when it was out on the touchline, likewise if Keïta had tucked in quicker than he probably picks up the loose ball from Konaté stopping the attack. In that next phase of the move, Milner fails to cut out the pass and Robertson could position himself better. This isn’t to have a go at any of those players mentioned, rather just to exemplify that saying his error led to the chance is a lazy bit of analysis because there will always be a number of factors at play.

Jamie Jackson's a bitter Manc, like the rest of them in the media. Refuses to ever give Liverpool praise.

He gave a 7 for Hendo - the same score as De Gea. Twat.

It’s funny to think last time he played at Old Trafford he lost 5-0 with Leipzig, this time the score is reversed. He’s got the lot already and he’s only 22, we did very well to pay his release clause and bring him in.

It wasn't even an error by Konate as you say he has done his job and won the ball.

If it wasn’t for De Gea, the score would have been 7-0 (Salah’s chance and Trent’s bullet come to mind). Not that would have made a big difference, mind, and I agree with you, a 7/10 is way too much.

I read somewhere Konate had the third fastest top speed of any European footballer clocked last season. He certainly has a great turn of pace. Great in the air, proactive in the tackle, strong, a complete unit. All that is lacking, and it’s not really a lack as such, is a bit more experience so the line works like clockwork. A few more games and this might be the number one partnership at the back for us for now.

I loved his willingness to get in there with a few handbags flying. Ronaldo. Bruno. Nope. You don’t mess with Liverpool.

Ridiculous to say, but he looks the nearest thing you can get to a young Van Dijk. Big future.

Konate was great and it's obvious he has the physical traits to become a dominant CB in our team.  What I also noticed today was his heading control was exceptional.  This is something I've previously highlighted with VVD where he's able to direct headed balls towards our players even when he's being challenged by the opposition.  Too many defenders just head the back the opposite way it came from, as hard as they can, and it often leads to turnovers (remember Skrtel).  Konate already seems to have this skill in his locker which is a great sign for us.

I also loved that moment that Dalot went for a sprint late in the second half (after only coming on 10 minutes earlier) and Konate just casually turned on the afterburners to catch him and eased him away from the play.

Impressive stats as well:
60 touches
44 passes (91.7%)
100% tackle success
100% ground duels won
8 clearances
2 long balls completed
Raúl barely had a kick. The nearest he got to greatness was when he shook Gerrard by the hand.   Times - Mar 10,2009.

of course, cheers mate, point still stands tho, hell of a game to come into with only one prem start under your belt and did well, time will tell how good the lad can be but he's got the tools and genuine pace in a CB is a massive plus

What a guy. That tussle with Rashford in the first half where Rashford was looking to run in to space on the left wing was fabulous, but then the tackle on Ronaldo, and that race with Dalot was superb as well.
Fantastic performance, but should have not allowed Ronaldo on his right foot inside that easily for the disallowed goal. He will keep becoming greater.

In the Atletico game we seemed content letting Joao Felix hang out high and wide behind Trent assuming that Matip would get over or one of the CM's.  Obviously it didn't work as well as hoped so maybe Konate was the tactical answer?  I guess we'll see as the games go along.
