Not that it changes the outcome but is there any point in making shots to the back of the head illegal? Like I'd say more than half of those were to the back of the head.

Volk retaining seems to be a controversial decision on Reddit. But I thought 3, 4 and 5 belonged to Volk. Max didn't do enough in those rounds. Any thoughts?

Probably because Max comfortably controlled the first two rounds always going to be controversial but Volk won 4 and 5 and the third was 50/50 for me so don't think either fighter could complain too much no matter which way it went. Doesn't help that in both fights the commentators have basically been sucking Max off the whole time!

Had it same. Agree it was too close to call, and you would give it to the champ in that scenario. But folks claiming it as a robbery on Reddit has left me confused.
Bisping influenced me in the beginning too until I stopped listening to the commentary.

Yeah robbery is too far all comes down to the third I thought Volk landed the bigger shots and had the bigger moments in the round but no doubt people will be influenced by the commentary. I was going for Volk but wouldn't have complained if the fight went the other way.

Think you are right on the money at the end of round 4. All that hype for Masvidal and apart from the opening flurry, he has disappointed.

That was incredibly dull. Won't be staying up for an Usman fight again unless it's vs another wrestler and he's forced to stand

Cormier was right on the money when he said Masvidal is a fun exciting fighter but simply not championship calibre.

Usman is just too good a wrestler. The most fun fight I've seen him in was against Colby when he stood up and traded but other than that, his wrestling game is just so good, he can always go to that and pound away for 5 rounds and win the decision.

With a 6 day notice, Masvidal had nothing to lose. Got his payday, didn't get embarrassed, it's a bad matchup for him, but not surprised.

perhaps robbery is a strong word but I don't know a person that had Alex winning the fight. Lets say it was a controversial decision

Think the issue is Max won the first two rounds clearly whereas the last three were all pretty even, could make a case for either fighter taking those rounds. Then there's Bispings commentary, he wasn't calling any of the work Volkanovski was doing.
