This idea that seems to being spouted by some here that Moyes is an exceptional manager is bollocks. Solid, yes, has done relatively well with Everton - sure. But that's all. While I think he's a touch above the manager bracket mentioned above (ie Martin O'Neill, Roberto Martinez, Tony Pulis, Alan Pardew) that is pretty much where he sits. Take out Martinez and put in Moyes and you have four very similar managers with similar achievements but Moyes edging them out as the pick of the bunch with his record of where Everton have finished in the league during his tenure.
As for the argument he'd been on our radar if not for his Everton connnection - I can't argue against it cos we recently appointed fucking Hodgson, so anyone considered experienced would've had a shout.
However, as I mentioned before, he's too negative, fucks up the big games with his in-game management - a trait that even the most stalwart blues criticise him for. He is not a top club manager and despite the press doing their best to get a club to take a punt, I don't expect to see any major hitter coming in for Moyes any time soon.
Also, reasoning on our appointment of Rodgers v Moyes is irrelevant - we took a punt on a young manager who's shown promise with a style that appeals. Simple as really.
