Nuri Sahin
« on: May 2, 2011, 03:23:56 pm »
Marca reporting that Real have agreed terms with Sahin and just need to agree a fee with Dortmund (10m euros):

http://www.marca.com/2011/05/02/futbol/equipos/real_madrid/1304332751.html

He will join Ozil, Kaka, Alonso, Diarra, Khedira, Gago, Granero and Canales in their midfield.

I know this is a transfer rumour as such and RM are probably going to get rid of about 5 of the above but I just don't get why so many talented young players join a club knowing the personnel that are already in their position.

Big shame if true, especially if we missed out at that price!

I honestly can't see the attraction for him. He will be competing directly with Kaka, Ozil, Alonso, Diarra and Khedira.

RM buy Kaka for 50 odd million, then Ozil and are still not satisfied.

Can't fucking stand the mentality.

Also, why the fuck do they get away with buying all these great players at cut prices! If this is true and he is joining them, why aren't Dortmund standing their ground and demanding 20m at least?!

Is it only us and the Mancs that won't be held ransom?

Kind of good news, least it's not Man Utd or someone he will excel at, once he has been ruined and mastered the art of bench warming.. for a season or maybe 18 months, then we can come in for him at a cut price.

Seems daft why young players would go to Madrid knowing that during crucial development years they will spend most of there time on the bench rather than staying at Dortmund and playing Champions League football.

10m Euros is an absolute steal. Huge shame for Dortmund too if this is true. Klopp deserves to keep hold of their best players so they can give the CL a proper go next season. I also don't see how he is going to displace Alonso, Khedira or Ozil.

Maybe he should look at Van Der Vaart to see his future? On the bench for Madrid, transfered to spurs and becomes there best player, maybe he should cut out the middle man and come straight to us instead :)

I'd happily take 1 or 2 of the midfielders who fall through the cracks in Madrid. The good thing about them buying everyone is that some of the players are bound to go cheap.

He probably cares more about the ridiculous wages and glamour at Real Madrid as opposed to actually playing any football.

Don't see why people are saying he wouldn't start. He'd easily earn the spot of Xabi's partner ahead of Lass and Khedira, who are both good but not great players.

Nuri Sahin playing CM for Madrid with Oezil infront of them? They'd get fucking ripped apart.

Kagawa or Götze.
BUT he has a destroyer-type player in Bender next to him who is called "The Vaccuum".
Alonso ain't that player.

Maybe so but he does his fair share of defensive work, an underlooked part of Alonso's game.

Exactly, Bender is Sahin's insurance policy, Alonso would never be that type of player.

Be interesting to see where Kaka ends up next season, probably back at Milan or to Chelsea if Ancelotti stays, possibly Manchester City after all? Would he be willing to join Inter to replace Sneijder if he leaves? I also think ourselves and Man Utd will be keeping a close eye on his situation and the price Madrid will be looking for.

Which, funnily enough is the team they compete for in every competition... You don't counter Barcelona with a midfield of Alonso-Sahin-Oezil, well, not in my opinion.

Then play Khedira in that game.

Afterall Real need more numbers for the deeper 2 in midfield, Alonso-Lass-Khedira aren't enough. (I don't really consider Granero and Gago to be good enough in that role)

Khedira isn't good enough either, they have resorted to playing Pepe as their anchorman, they are in desperate need for a specialist one.

Can't believe he would want to leave Dortmund after they just won the league. Shame really.

He would be a great signing for any club though.
