Looked ok so far. England need to play through him more though. I know it's difficult playing against this Spanish side, but Jones needs to stop hoofing the ball up. Does anyone know if Henderson is playing a bit deeper than usual? That's the impression I got.

Yeah he's been quite deep, I remember him getting forward once. It's difficult because ihe's had to stay discplined whilst Spain have most of the ball. And you can probably add Smalling to Jones - both seem to love playing the longer ball. Bloody Mancs.

Think he has done alright, played deeper than he does naturally!!

Anyone else thinking how good Javi Matinez is looking, and with his size how good he would be in the prem!!! And I'm thinking he would be an amazing player in a big team as he controls the midfield. Whats his value if Hendo's is £20m, doubt it would be anymore!

Nice to watch that at half-time Hendo was clapping, encouraging/motivating his team. Seems like a real fighter.

He was involved in one attack, if I remember correctly. I have to say, he does look disciplined. I think it's quite difficult, especially at his age. Also, Mata has dominated the midfield. Btw, how come Mata is 23 and is playing in this tournament? Sorry if I missed something obvious...

Remember what the Sunderland fan said in the other thread? People often do not see what Henderson does.

He has really tried to get the team going and has kept them ticking with fast direct passing, one or two touches. Watch closer in the second half slackers!

Side passes galore.

I'll be interesting to note how many side passes he's made. Lucas Mark II.

I can see why Sunderland fans targetted him with the Boo's towards the end of the season. He's pretty much the same player as Lucas, does the exact same thing. I'd love him to play a one two, with someone, drive forward occasionally. He's so rigid back there, just getting the ball and passing it back to the defenders.

To be kind to the lad, he's one for the future. But to spend that much money on a future product is a huge gamble.

He's looked good but too much hoofing from the back so he's been bypassed. He's shown he's willing to pass and move but other players aren't.

He was 21 or under when the qualifiers start so he is eligible to play in the tournament.

You're absolutely right. Shame on you Kenny for spending that much money on him. From this 45 minutes alone, it is clear he is not LFC standard. Let's sign some other player who looks half decent in the tournament instead. Can't go wrong with flavour of the month after all.

We should never judge a player in a game like this and when they are getting out played.
Rooney is shit in international level, along with many other world class players. Others are only good playing for their national team.

Exactly, different teams, different managers, different circumstances. Only an absolute Timmy would judge a player based on 45 minutes in an underage tournament.

Do you actually watch football? He's passed forwards a fair bit and doesn't really look in the Lucas mould to me (who by the way is also a class player). He's more dynamic than Lucas and certainly has a lot of ability. I think he looks decent.
