The button on my 'jailbroken' 3gs broke so I took it back, they have replaced it and the bastard new one has got the new 3.1.3 firmware on it - devastated!

I honestly feel like crying! It is useless to me now, I refuse to pay for apps having had them for free for so long!

Guess i'll have to wait patiently for a new jailbreak

Honestly. I understand piracy when it comes to some things, as they're a ripoff. But little iddy-biddy applications that cost nothing to about 2.99??  Absolute mingebag!

what about this fucker?

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=292239107&mt=8

$25 off itunes but pretty indispensable for me, and I also use the German & French ones reasonably often and the English one comes in handy now and again. Sorry if that makes me a mingebag but I'm glad I'm not paying $100 for them, so more power to the pirates.

Not looking for an argument but I bet you expect a fair days wages for a fair days work.

They may be shite and I don't agree with the system of paying for a "pig in a poke" but they are someone's work, which is usually not for free.

Watching Sky Sports again on my Iphone, free for 3 months so that's the season sorted.

Pretty damn good I have to say, as I don't currently have the full sized version. So far I haven't watched a Liverpool victory on it yet. Wonder what it will be like to dance around my mobile phone!  ;D

Also, the iPad has just been announced and has the current apple design. The thing would look outdated a month after release if the iPhone design changed.

That looks like it's using the same material and kind of design as the PowerMac G5 as well:

I doubt Apple would make an iPhone like that, but they could do, who knows..

This is the thing with the way Apple have set our their stall. Is it going to be difficult for them to adopt a WVGA screen? With hardware, and more importantly resolution lock-in, are they going to struggle implementing different screens. Clearly the iPad has already done that, but it might start getting tough if you have two versions on an iPhone app.

Aaaagh, my internet (3g) connection won't work. I'm on o2 PAYG if this makes any difference, unlimited internet tarriff and i topped up two/three days ago. My free texts work so it can't be an issue with that. Anyone else having this? Or any advice short of ringing o2's excellent :rolleyes customer services?

Scratch that, i'm such a biff. I had to restore my phone the other day, and it set the data settings back to the contract ones(default) so i've put the payg ones back in, and it works.

Ok.. What do I do? Had to switch my phone off and on again and now it's frozen in the start up screen (black background with that damned apple picture). Been like that for an hour now. Tried taking out the sim card, tried pressing buttons.. Still frozen. Do I have to wait until the battery wears out?

If this doesn't work then you'll have to restore it by putting it into recovery mode.

Same thing happened to me once, went to work, came home, it still hadn't sorted itself out so had to do a restore, but iTunes wouldn't recognise the fucker, hence recovery mode was needed just to get my phone running again.

New theme = GlassIllumine.

Did take me some time to get all the icons right and also change the language and location for the widgets, but it's a nice change.

Yep, the theme is from Cydia, comes with some stock icons, but I had to SSH in to change the City, Language (on the widget) and add some icons.  There is a good thread on a mac site if you google Illumine with user made icons that fit the theme.

Heard from a friend at O2 today that all iphone tariff's will get unlimited texts as of 27th Feb. This is for current and new iphone tariff holders. It wont affect your current deal and will be tacked on to whatever you currently have. Not sure how this effects current iphone owners who already have unlim texts

Saw this online that backs up what I heard

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/618523/claim-unlimited-texts-on-all-o2-iph

Been told by an o2 rep on the phone that they are changing their price plans at the end of the month and will offer unlimited texts on all iPhone price plans.

Existing customers - ring up on or after the 27th of Feb to upgrade your plan to include unlimited texts.

THEY WILL NOT DO SO AUTOMATICALLY. You have to claim it.

Not aware of any more details at the moment. This sounds too good to be true, and awaiting for more official confirmation - this is just what a rep told me.

Would you have to go on a higher price plan? Or just say you'd like the free texts?

It wont affect your contract length or your current per month price

For example if your paying £35 a month for 600 mins and 600 texts you'll be bumped up to 600 mins and unlim texts for £35 a month.

Check to see if it gets activated on the 27th and if not give them a call and find out for sure
