Not that it makes any difference but I'm amazed at Manc fans wanting to loose tonight. It's not that I don't understand the fear they have of us winning the title but they seem to be missing the opportunity in this and I'm not talking about top 4.
When we had that match with Blackburn back in 95, sure I was concerned that avoiding defeat might result in a Manc title but I also understood that the best outcome of all was a win for us and United failing to do their own bit. And that's what happened. Not to diminish Shank's observation that LFC exists to win trophies but I have no shame whatsoever when admitting that the events of that afternoon were one of the most satisfying for me as a Liverpool supporter ( I was around for the seventies and eighties btw). We came out of that day with our heads held high and saw our greatest rivals come up short in a title bid.
It's the same for United fans now, they should be thinking how hilarious it would be, for them,if they took points off City but we slipped up afterwards. Looks to me like they don't the stomach for it and I will be honest, that's suprises me a lot.
