He's been doing a really poor Trent impersonation lately. Switching the play, shooting from range, clipped balls over the top, all executed frequently and miserably. That's not to say he's a bad player, just that he's trying to be something he's not and all he's doing is losing the ball over and over.

I think he's getting a bit of unfair criticism today. I dont think he was helped a lot by those in front of him letting runners go, once that happens doesn't matter who you you'll look poor. Nothing worse as a defender than to have people coming at your from all angles
Maybe it was a tactic I don't know, but in that first half it didn't look like Salah was tracking back much to help him. I know it was Wan Bisaka who was the full back but its an extra body to deal with

That. Plus the fact that the performance (in my view) can be put squarely down to fatigue, not a lapse of concentration or effort.

On United; I thought he struggled first 20 when he was being overloaded down our right. Ultimately that’s tactical issue, there’s not a lot he can do without cover in those situations.

He grew into it and actually thought we looked worse as he went off.

I think Joe would be better if he played his version of the RB role, rather than imitating Trent.
Bradley does that, he plays his strengths which is a more classical Robbo-type full back.

Hopefully he's got that out of his system now.  A steady cameo for him at left-back but unsurprisingly no synergy with Rashford as Rashford always prefers to run into a crowd of defenders.

Hes mostly in the way in the midfield, and lost an endless row of passes.
Trent inverting is a threat with his incredible passing, but Gomez doesnt have that quality
