Smicer's 44 Yarder...
« on: March 24, 2002, 06:42:23 pm »
Or 8 yarder, could be the equivalent of Gary Mac's goal at the pit.

That goal breathed life back into Liverpool's weary players, and spurred us on to do the treble and get a CL spot.

Smicer's goal is the catalyst, alongside GH's return, in leading Lpool to glory this season.

...I also hope it banished the ghost of his Sunday League-esque miss in Istanbul. I think we can forgive him for that now can't we??

Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple - Bill Shankly.

Bill Shankly on Tommy Smith

"If he isn't named Footballer of the Year, football should be stopped and the men who picked any other player should be sent to the Kremlin"
