If you combined the cheekiness of Fowler, pure footballing skill of Kenny and the work rate of Kuyt, you’d get Bobby.

Thought you were gonna say rushyman then

You can see it in his eyes. He is more hungry than ever this season.

The face he pulled in the tunnel and the way he tried to calm Sadio down too. He is a great guy.

I remember when Bobby started playing for us there were quite a few who wanted to replace him. He didn't score enough and he wasn't a "Liverpool" player.

Now he is one of the first on the team-sheet.....in fact he is practically undroppable.

His skill and work-rate is incredible.......and he just loves playing for us.

Could it be said that Jurgen has got Bobby playing to his strengths?

I.e. in any other team and in any other position/role, Bobby wouldn't be as effective..
Is he just as effective in the Brazil team, for example?

I think it's safe to safe that under Kloppo he's become an elite player, world class! Surely can't be a better coach for Bobby than him. They are made for each other.

He was very effective at Hoffenheim playing for Markus Gisdol once he figured out what his role was - he originally had him playing more as a winger, but his last 2 seasons he played more centrally as an attacking mid a lot of the time, and was very good.  He didnt have the consistency then, but of course, he was a young player at Hoffenheim, so that wasn't so surprising.

He’s always been a technically good player and very important for the team, but this season he’s showing more and more that classic brazillian cheek and flair that you don’t seem to see from Brazillian players anymore.

Meanwhile, Fabinho has also returned to the Brazil setup and will join Roberto Firmino for two friendlies in the United States.

The 2019 Copa America champions face Colombia in Miami on Friday night (local time) and then travel to Los Angeles four days later for an encounter with Peru.

These lads will be shattered when they get back.

First, I wonder if the Miami match goes ahead with Hurricane Dorian doing her thing. I suppose it will but imagine our lads being there right now training and having to deal with the Hurricane news and wet training conditions. This is scheduled for 8:30 pm Eastern time.

Then a 5-6 hour flight to LA. With the 8 hour time difference to the UK in LA.

This is actually scheduled for an 8 Pm Pacific time start Tuesday night. ( 4 am Uk time Wednesday morning). Provided our lads leave Wednesday, they won't arrive the UK until Thursday with an 8 hour time difference jet lag. I'd wager they might get one training session in Friday before the early Saturday kickoff with Newcastle.

Dorian is missing Florida for the most part now. The match will be on.

There is a heck of a chance that neither Firmino or Fabinho can start on Saturday for Newcastle. They will be the latest arrivals back.

Given the games on a Tuesday rather than Wednesday they may well be back in England by Wednesday evening which gives them a potential day off Thursday before training Friday? Think they’ll be fine as long as they come back fully fit.

The match is on Tuesday US time but Wednesday morning English time. Likely that they won't fly back from LA until Wednesday which probably means getting back to the UK Thursday. It'll likely be a lot less than 48 hours between landing in the UK and the Newcastle game.

Not sure if they'll fly in a private jet or not but even if it's a 1st class flight from LA they'll still probably feel some jet lag. Even if they don't play any part in the game.

Sensible thing will probably not consider them to start the Newcastle game. We have 3 forward players who will not have played in the international week -  Shaqiri, Salah and Mane. I'd start all 3. You have Milner who could come into midfield. Maybe Lallana too. Wouldn't be surprised if those 5 start with 1 of Henderson or Wijnaldum. The other option is  4-2-3-1 with Origi playing, though we probably wouldn't go with Lallana and Milner as the midfield 2 in this situation.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

For me it's Origi before Shaq.

Steve Bruce's Newcastle are going to use the uninspiring smash and grab they did so successfully against Utd. Still we would have too much quality against this lot and their manager even if our players are half-asleep from jet lag.

Played 83 minutes for Brazil in their pointless friendly against Colombia. Just hope sense prevails and he doesn’t start their next game, also a friendly on Wednesday against Peru.

Whether Bobby or Fab plays or not, they'll be training. They'll have a workout on Tuesday. Either playing or as a sub.

Their match will finish at 6 am Wednesday morning UK time. THen they'll go to their hotel. Get a nights sleep and leave for home. Private plane or not.

Then the long slog back. And i've flown from the West Coast to England before. 10-11 hour flight, 8 hours time zone difference.

They won't arrive until Thursday morning.

Yeah I think Bobby will be used off the bench against Newcastle and we’ll see Origi through the middle.

Not many coach would have seen that.

Rogers played in the left or right side of a diamond or a wingback which is ridiculous. You leave him to other lesser coaches including Mourinho, Emery and Ole,  and he would suffer the same fate.
