Other than some quite clearly sarcastic posts I haven’t seen anyone suggesting he is shit.

Craig it is a general undercurrent of any player threads i was talking about.

Well not this thread, everyone thinks he’s boss, so not really sure why you posted it in here.

Jokes aside, we still haven’t found a suitable understudy for him.

Ox, Shaq and Origi has all had a taste of playing as a false 9 with varied success. Against Barcelona was the only game where I feel we didn’t miss Firmino. Most other times I just sense we were that one idea short when he is not playing or not playing well.

I guess if we couldn’t find a successor then then we just don’t play 4-3-3

I agree.
There is no player close to Firmino, as he's basically 2 for the price of 1.

When he's not playing,  I d rather we always go 4 2 3 1 as it suits the strengths of his current replacements (Origi, Shaq combo) with the reshuffle...

Unless...Minamino!

Minamino could well be a useful understudy. Certainly looks like one of the roles where he might thrive.

Easily the happiest for Bobby after the final. He had to put up with years of disrepect from the Brazilian establishment for not coming up through the traditional big clubs, it must have been incredible for him to score the winner against one of those clubs in the Club World cup final. This only months after winning the Copa America by leading the line for his country, what an amazing year for our Bobby. Nobody deserves it more than him.
