Of course it was a poor performance mate, but lets have a bit of perspective here.

I can take losing if we put up a fight. I saw absolutely none of that whatsoever, we were 2nd best to everything all over the pitch. Taking too long with the ball, losing possession in midfield or in defence. It was embarrassing.

We do need to support the club, but these are the defeats where the super fans don't help themselves, it was absolutely pathetic. Out fought by a Swansea team in poor form with no goals in them. The 3rd goal we conceded was comical. We get ourselves back in to the game then give up a few minutes later. Sorry, but in this instance I think it's right to be aggrieved.

Lovren and Clyne played 90 minutes. Pretty sure they'll start on Thursday...

They're not made from wet tissue though are they ?

I'd be very surprised if he starts Thursday.
Jurgen's use of him lately tells me Daniel isn't the player he wants to lead the line.
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

As with RAWK's tradition, i nominate Skrtel as Barclays Flop of the Match  8)

What about Barclays Young Flop of the Match? Jordan Ibe retains.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Poor all around really.

I wouldn't be too harsh on Chirivella, thought he made a very encouraging start to the game but then they took control and he disappeared.  Still very young, still very talented, I hope (and think) he'll get many more opportunities under Klopp in the years to come and he'll show what he can really do.

But I really don't know what to make of Ibe.  He's regressing and, with Ojo emerging and impressing, I am starting to wonder what the future holds for him.

Ward had a good game, Smith didn't look ready to play in the PL.  Ojo was encouraging.  Sturridge was pretty terrible, as was Coutinho in the first-half.  It's a day most will want to forget quickly, win on Thursday and today will pale into some insignificance.
The reason that Ibe isn't impressing very much is that we have already become adjusted to seeing his pace and strength allow him to beat his man a couple of times a game, but it's got to the point where he isn't 17 anymore and he has to be able to pass, move, make decisions and so on, and his limitations are becoming obvious.

So Liverpool Reserves was spanked by a Swansea team who wanted it more.

you forgot the failures of zonal marking which only gets mentioned when a team plays it concedes. Man to man on corners is a 100% success rate since rawk likes stats so much ;D

Of course it was a poor performance mate, but lets have a bit of perspective here.

Nothing wrong with some criticism of a performance like today, as long as people are behind the team at Anfield on Thursday.

Always good for a few giggles these post-match threads.  ;D

Ended with three starters, the rest dont normally even make the 18 or worse, or wont will even be here next year. Goes to show how important a midfield is. Still beyond poor, but move on

No excuses for Thursday now. Imperative.

Oh and don't know why people are fretting over Sturridge not starting on Thursday because he played full time today. It would not be because of rest. 96+ hours is plenty of time.
It would be tactics, which I'd admit would leave me scratching my head.

Well. Our season hinges on Thursday.

So? Klopp always had a free pass this season anyway. He needs his players and his system. He hasn't even been here a full.season. That season started a bit shite if you remember. But we've already been in one final, might be two. A laughable raft of injuries all over the park hasn't helped. Whatever happens thus season is really just a footnote. I'd hope for more direction and an improvement next season though. Today was an end of season kick about.  Feel sorry for the travelling fans but don't really care that much about a couple of places thus season.

Under Klopp only the Watford 3 - 0 loss ranks alongside this for me, there have been games like the West Ham losses where we were inferior, but this was just rank.

Love the fact that the Klopp lovers can't admit he was wrong on Thursday

Let's start with Firmino then who's bang out if form

You can love Klopp as I do and say he got it wrong last Thursday, which he did.

Strange that Sturridge played 90 mins. Cant see us keeping a clean sheet, think we need to score 3. That will be difficult with either Firmino as false 9 or Benteke up front.
As I've said before, the Full English is just the base upon which the Scots/Welsh/NI have improved upon. Sorry but the Full English is the worst of the British breakfasts.

What do you mean always? He's one of the best goalscorers in the club's history. He's delivered for LFC time and time again when on the field.

The midfield was invisible for the entire game, he had absolutely nothing to work with

Just that certain players are defended with excuses, Sturridge being one.

I do think Sturridge should be playing but don't believe he did enough today. That's all.

Was thinking should we qualify for europe via the league, starting in july, then the kids

flanno gomez randall wisdom smith
brannagan stewart chirivella rossitor
ibe ojo canos tex kent wilson
origi ings

isn't a bad starting point.

But on todays viewing - nah, who am i kidding, there is a massive gulf in difference between our best side on fire and our 2nd string playing badly.

And collectively today, they were appalling, i'd have thought they'd have been busting a gut to get a chance for thursday but even if the heart was willing, the legs, brains, technical ability, desire, quality just wasn't there - against a side lacking quality.

Klopp has a massive job ahead not only improving the first 11 but bridging the gap between 1st and 2nd string.

Today, everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. Every goal we conceded was horrific defending and dare I say I don't expect Skrtel to stay. Chirivella had a very hard job on his debut with Sigurdsson and Ayew harrassing him. Benteke was a great sub between minute 45 and 75, after Smith's red card, Swansea tightened up even more and nothing more was possible. I think we will see Firmino and Benteke leading the line on Thursday.
Last resort if you need tickets in Switzerland.

Yeah he's clearly finished at the club, so why bother playing him? Play Lloyd Jones or something.

Same goes for Lucas, the guy is just going through the motions until he's binned in the summer. Neither of those two should ever be wearing the armband. His complete lack of effort for their third goal was unbelievable. If Balotelli had done the same thing it'd be meltdown. He literally just gave the ball away and walked back and watched them score.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Perspective mate. 6 kids, a reserve CB that spreads panic and senior players who have got their mind on the biggest game of the season next Thursday. Plus only arriving back in the country 3 am yesterday morning.  So it's no surprise to me why we struggled the way we did today. Disappointed with the lack of effort from some of the seniors, but In a way I can understand why they held back.

Poor performance from all the players. A stinking performance that doesn't bode well for Thursday. Nothing positive about today other than Benteke's header.

We need our 2nd string players to step up when needed. Today showed that our squad needs a clear out.

Klopp lovers?
You dont like our manager already?
Youve already had enough of him?
One final and one semi at least with BRs team,a team which had 8 players out with hamstrings a couple of months ago?
A manager who hasnt yet got a single player of his own signing on the pitch...other than Caulker?

Well that was an awful performance - lethargic, uninterested and comical defending after we got back in it.

Shot ourselves in the foot again when we had a chance to get a point or possibly more.

Sturridge playing 90 minutes and leaving the pitch alone doesn't look good either ....

Andre Ayew - man of the match , Liverpool fan and available on a free transfer at the time he went to Swansea - missed a trick there !! Fantastic little player.

One to forget. Roll on Thursday night when Anfield will be rocking !!

Kudos to Swansea for everything they did today in terms of their tribute - Barry Devonside and the families must have been touched.

Couldn't agree more with the rest of your post but have to take umbrage with this bit  ;D Ayew is the kind of signing I'd hope we veer well away from, he'd done barely anything for months on end!

I looking at it that way , but it's still disappointing to see that attitude on the pitch

Agree. Thought things looked better early on in the 2nd, with Lucas finding balls forward. Then he fell asleep and after their third, everyone was asleep. So many poor mis-placed passes, Benteke went down like he was shot, Sturridge wanted to do things on his own etc. We seemed unable to go back to basics to find some rythm.
