Why does that line have his SV% under 60%. He has saved 51 shots on goal on 66 SOG which is 77.27%
It's a trend, starting at ~100%, ending at <60%. The average is just under 80%, in agreement with your numbers.

Wasn't he saving 20% more than expected this season until the Palace game? Looks like he's reverting to the mean (a bit drastically conceding 7 goals from 11 shots) but we should see a more consistent/improved Ali after this.
Football without fans is nothing.

We've won 18 titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, but today must be the greatest victory of all.

The reason he didn't dive for the West Ham goal is that his name isn't Pickford.
Top keepers know where a ball is going and whether they can reach it or not, no point diving if you can't get it - better to stay on your feet ready for any potential rebound.

Its more about his physical reaction time. An unsighted keeper might not react to a shot that he could save, because he doesn't see it fast enough. Also depends a lot on reflexes. A keeper like De Gea has outstanding reflexes, so needs less time between seeing the shot and moving his body toward the ball.
Overall I'd say, he is a little off where he was a few weeks ago, factoring in the misjudged pass in the Leicester game, who knows why - although having a very exposed right side is likely a factor.

Alisson's Save Percentage per game. Trending slightly downwards, but his peaks are perfect, although he has crashed and burned twice this season (Cardiff, Crystal Palace)

I think a moving average line or polynomial line would show the fluctuations better as the data set isn’t really linear. It looks like Alisson is deteriorating as the season progresses, even during the periods where his save % was consistent.

The timeline is linear, is it not? It's his performance over time.

A linear trend would be something that’s steadily increasing or decreasing over time, whereas the data fluctuates from game to game between 0% and 100%. Using the average for each month might give a more linear data set.

It doesn’t really matter, I’m just a mathematical pedant.  :D

For the moving average? Try three or five games, see how that looks. I think that might give a better indication of “form” as a trend.

The moving average line would be the trend line rather than the linear one, if you get my drift, and try it for rolling three or five games (for 5 games, there’d be 20 points starting from game 5 for the trend line. That’s why i suggested try 3 games also, so there isn’t such a lag).

Can we just appreciate how good the West Ham goal was. Saw it on highlights and I clapped. If Barcelona had scored that...

At no point was I thinking he should have saved that.

Really happy with him as I know most of is are. Of those seven goals he has comced d in 11 shots how many were what you would howlers?

City (2) and Palace (3) are the only teams who have put more than 1 past our defence in the league this season.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Was a save you'd expect him to make tbf.

Huge presence in our side though

The big difference between the previous long-term first choice keepers though:

2010's Reina - only saved what you'd expect him to save.
Mignolet - could save anything, yet could also concede anything.

Alisson saves both what you'd expect him to save and pulls crazy stops as well. That's what makes him a class above other keepers that are either or.

What makes him a class above every other 'keeper in the league is that he combines that immense shotstopping talent with immense footballing talent to. He's like Edrerson and De Gea combined, only far better looking.

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Really, I'd take 2 or 3 costly mistakes over 26 Games.

Weird situations are a part of the game (one being a casual robbery at Leicester and a few others being about vision/reaction saves).
The injuries to our back line and wing backs in no small way has contributed as well.

Truthfully, I am glad to have a few pieces to learn from (i.e. Naby getting picked by Noble releasing Antonio will be a part of our memory banks for a while --- Sturridge turning off on Lamela at Spurs another).

The trend for Alisson though is by no means destiny, but please do your worst to challenge this notion!

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
