He'd turn in two good games out of every ten - tops. Compare that with Digger 1987 to 1990 when he was a constant menace. McManaman was good in the 1992 FA Cup Final, and excelled in the 1995 League Cup Final, but let's face it these were against Sunderland and Bolton. Also without doubt the worst LFC player I have ever seen for shirking a challenge - a thoroughbred shithouse.
what a crock of shit. from 94-98, mcmanaman and fowler were by far our best and most consistent players.
his energy levels on the field were a different league to every other player in the premiership. he was that good that the general theory around the prem was 'stop mcmanaman, stop liverpool' hence every fucker tried to man mark him.
his performance levels dropped in his last year here, i thought some of that was down to injuries he was picking up, though the more cynical round here thought it was because is head was already at barca or real.
you only have to look back at the season review videos from 94-98 and everything that we did ran through mcmanaman, he was the spark behind the majority of our creation.
