Spot on. There's no reason why we shouldn't be expecting to progress regardless of who we draw, but I'd much rather have a more straightforward route through than have to deal with European giants sandwiched between difficult league games. The glamour ties can come later.

Just googled Shaktar and the play in Karkhiv these days which is miles past Kyiv. Though Donetsk was somewhere else in Ukraine . The Kyiv treck was hard doing but , yep fuck it most probably would be up for a mad 10 days away.

I got Atletico, Shakhtar and Inter. Would prefer not to get Inter as the Pot 4 team (and yes, I know that they're like spiders in the sense that they're more scared of us than we are of them etc etc), but otherwise not an awful draw.

The second closest combination of teams we could possibly face (excluding all of the above three) would be Juventus, Porto and Hoffenheim @ ~4.450 total air miles, almost twice the travel distance.

Longst possible would be Moscow, Shaktar and Galatasaray @ ~10.300 air miles.

We are going to have CL games sandwiched in between difficult league games against Spurs, Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Utd. Unbelievable how that worked out. Anyone who's happy for us to face good teams at this stage need their head banging. I want a reasonably straight forward group so it doesn't disrupt our league challenge. Group boxed off early and players fresh.
