I think we can rule spurs out at this stage.

67 points (4 wins and a draw) might well be enough for us.
For that to happen, Leicester would need to lose 2 or draw 2 and lose 1.
West Ham would need to lose 1 or draw 2 of their last 4.

it's not unthinkable.

Win them all and we've got a good chance imo.

But we need to win them all, so...!  ???

Looking at the fixtures though, it's not entirely inconceivable that Leicester vs Spurs on the final day could be a shootout for...a...position.

Both have three matches left, and they're separated by 7 points having both already played this weekend.  Leicester losing their next two (away to United and Chelsea) whilst Spurs win theirs (home to Wolves and Villa) would close the gap to just a point going into the final day.

Obviously Chelsea, West Ham, and ourselves are all significant factors alongside that.

It's possible we could have 5 teams finish on 67 points.

Not even going to try and predict any results in other games in this of all seasons ... loads more twists and turns I would imagine.

Confident Chelsea will get top4... rest of us will likely fall over ourselves. A lot hinges on Leicester game Tuesday night.

Why would United want second? Was mentioned a few times they'd want to seal it. But I don't see why it matters.
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

The only thing United will care about in the rest of their games is beating us. Whether they finish 2nd or 3rd makes no odds.

Makes loads of odds. Not only in terms of PL prize money, but the team finishing 2nd gets a bigger share of CL TV money next season than those finishing 3rd.

As long as we win 4/5 remaining games we'll get top 4. Chelsea and Leicester aren't going to win out their matches, especially with cup final distractions.

Story of the season is that no matter what happens in other games, we always seem to fuck it up somehow. Five games remaining, it's likely that the same shit will happen but here's hoping.

We got one point more than Leicester did against Newcastle and that could be crucial.  All we can do is play to win all four remaing games and see what happens.

If we’d been given the points we should’ve had from the farce last weekend we’d be laughing... as it happens, Leicester to get back on form against United reserves and us to lose to round off a shoddy season.

No - it has always been the rule, apart from like 1 or 2 years about 15 years ago, that the Champo League Winner got a place, and IF that team hadn't qualified already, they got an additional spot (although it used to be that they had to go through qualifiers).

I fully expect Leicester to mess up and drop points, just not particularly confident we’ll take advantage of it.

We’ll go into gameweek 36 with a game in hand (as they’re in FA cup final) so pressure is on us then and then following gameweek they play before us with Chelsea the Tuesday night and us on the Wednesday night.

If they go into that with us right behind them, possibly after a bad result in FA cup final, I can see them shitting the bed.

That said, need West Ham to piss of sharpish as well.

Leicester are playing Man Utd away on Tuesday. We are playing Man Utd on Thursday, and then WBA on Sunday. We should just concentrate on our games and win them, since we could be above Leicester by next Sunday ...

I agree, more contextualising how I can see a Leicester collapse if they come out of an FA cup final defeat into that situation. Whether we take advantage ... yeah, that’s a whole other story.

I wonder what team was involved that made the change come about.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Actually no - it wasn't because of us - if i recall correctly the rule was briefly changed in like 2007/08 to say that it was up to the league concerned whether they wanted to choose whether to submit their 4th placed finisher (it was only specifically for the 3 leagues with 4 CL places) instead of the CL winner, and then was changed to say that the CL winner got through *instead* of the 4th placed team for 1 year, before the rule got changed back to "winner would gain CL qualification IF they didn't already ON TOP OF the league's top 4"

This was because previously (before 2005) it was assumed that on the very rare occasion that the CL winners didn't get top 4, their league would submit them instead of the 4th placed, but the FA played hardball on our (and Everton's) behalf and refused that, so UEFA made up the rule that they would gain entrance into the qualifiers, knowing that it would devalue the CL brand if the champions weren't in it before changing back to the "assume the league would submit them and pressure them to".  And you could make an anti-Everton argument that the FA shouldn't have done so, but taking our Scouse hats off, I think most would agree with the FA that UEFA trying to force the FA (or any other governing body) to replace a legitimately qualifying team with the CL winners to save UEFAs corrupt face was wrong

But we'll then probably fuck up against Burnley or West Brom.

It's just been that kind of season. We just don't look like a Klopp side or even a Champions League side for that matter and I'll be surprised if we win all four of our remaining games.
