I was at the Wales U16's game the other day, look out for Jonjo Shelvey's twin in a few years time, bald as a coot.
He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

Thought they've been good to be fair.  Won at a canter.

Who's the assistant commentator?  The foul for the 2nd goal was as blatent a free as you'll ever see and this guy basically said it was a foul the other way.  Obviously there is going to be bias, but this guy takes the biscuit.

Will I live to see Wales play at a major finals?  Circumstances always contrive to work against Wales, a dearth of withdrawals that Wales cannot afford against a pretty much full strength 'golden age' Belgium supposedly better than the Scifo/Coulemans of the 80s and the toss pot ref goes and sends Collins off in the first 20 minutes, game over.

Belgium should go on and win the group so theres always second place to play for but it doesn't half make me feel sick (again) knowing that Wales could have been that much better had Bellamy, Taylor, Collinson, Ledley and Vaughan been available.  A small country can barely handle one withdrawal let alone that many.  Ho hum, upwards and onwards!

Tough game tonight away to Israel who are still 100% after 3 games. Israel is always a tough place to go be it European club football or Internationals. Having said that I'm not overly familiar with much of their squad. Rafaelov of Club Brugge is meant to be in some form with Damari of RB Leipzig in free scoring form.

From a Welsh perspective it's nice to see Coleman being able to pick from a near ful strength squad, Hull's Chester and Newcastle's Dummett being the notable ommissions. With Bale's troubles at Madrid being well documented, this will be a great opportunity for him to play in a side that respects him and values him. No doubt he'll give that litle bit extra tonight to prove a point.

He'll be abely assisted in midfield by Allen who has grown in his role this season with the reds, and Ramsey who has had a great couple of seasons for Arsenal recently. I also have faith in our other midfeilders such as Ledley, Vaughan, Cotterill and Robson Kanu. Its also reassuring to have a premier league striker in the side once again in Vokes.

Ashley Williams will hopefully hold the defence together and despite losing two key premier league defenders, for once we have the strength in depth to field decent alternatives.
K
All in all I'm quietly confident. Win this and we go unbeaten to the top of the table having already played group favourites Belgium away. Israel face Belgium next week, if we win today, a win loss or draw for either side could be seen as a positive for Wales.

If we win and the momentum grows, no doubt the fickle Welsh fans will come out en mass again with potential 74,000 sell out crowds cheering Wales on for the visits of Belgium and Israel which could spur the team on further! Let's just deal with tonight's game first though, before we get carried away.

C'mon Cymru!

And I understand that half the town are going down to support them. Such a shame what has happened to Wrexham, taken into administration by a greedy corporate twat and then punished by the FA with rules put in place following Leeds Uniteds forray into Europe and over spending in search of success. Shocking.

Best of luck to them.

I know that this is a rather late answer but I am only just reading this thread and seeing your post.

The bald kid in question name is Lloyd. He used to play a year up in Mini Football and my team (I was coaching my son's team back then) would play his team in certain festivals. Everything in the team revolved around him - he would take all the free kicks, corner kicks and even goal kicks when required - it was basically just get the ball to Lloyd. One year he came to our Club Festival and I was reffing one of his games and the ball went out of play. Quick as a flash, he took the throw in to himself and took a shot on goal. The ball hit the back of the net at the same time my whistle finished blowing. Lloyd, his team-mates, his coaches and the parents were all going nuts because I disallowed the goal. He wasn't happy when I told him that he could not take a throw in to himself.

I think he would have done. At one time, the FAW were booked solid for the UEFA Pro Licence with English pros and managers coming to Wales to do their course.
One story I was told by a coaching friend of mine who did the Pro was that Paul Jewell was on the same course. Nothing out of the ordinary there then until one morning when Jewell was late. He arrived in a helicopter, landing on the football pitch having been to speak to a player & his agent. Not only that but he also left early by the same helicopter because he had another commitment that he could not get out of.

The Welsh FA has a growing rep in coaching and coach education. It'll soon be the go-to place like Largs was about 10 years ago. Although the Northern Irish FA is also catching up fast.
