Thursday 24 March 2011 An Everton fan banned from all football matches in the country for three years, after hurling abuse at Louis Saha has told Wish FM he thinks the punishment is too harsh.

It happened at the Stoke game back in October.


David Sibson, who's 57 and from Cheadle Hulme, shouted from the stands that he was a “useless, French, lazy, nd we can't repeat the rest.


He was given the banning order at Liverpool Crown Court earlier and gave his only radio interview to Wish FM's Chris Chambers - click below to listen to the interview.

My thougts exactly!. some of the stuff that gets said at games, didnt even know you could get banned for shouting stuff.

He's 57, if he has been going the pit his whole life, they should let him off with time served. In fact they should give him some compensation.

I'm suspecting that the bit that they couldn't say may have been racist as opposed to just bad language. A 3 year ban is excessive if it was just something like 'lazy French fucker'. Although that's a bit xenophobic it's hardly gonna get you a 3 year ban and I'd imagine stuff like that is said at every ground every week.
