I know he is a nice guy, even though we don't sell him, at least we need to bring in a better DMF in this summer

You honestly think we should sell Lucas? whose been our best midfielder for near enough two seasons now?

Grow up and start watching the game instead of joining the sky generation eh?

Would agree.  Kelly is solid / mature enough to hold down the role full time.  GJ likes to get forward & has a decent cross on him but his pace would also add another dimension to our midfield.
Yeah it solves two problems for us, sures up our defence and gives us width in attack

You think our current players are good enough?

Yes, i believe most of our players are good enough and I will defo get behind them.  Before the sending off we looked like we would really take the game to them when in possession of the ball.  Losing stevie put us on the back foot.

I'm sorry but if you feel there is reason to criticise the team after their performance today you're either a WUM or a manc - now which is it ???  :wanker

Good enough for what? Good enough to win that match, hell yes. Good enough to win the league, no not yet. Good enough to get into the top 6, yes. And Torres didn't show much improvement in passion but everyone else did so your opinion is based on one team member and not the entire team.

Kelly was boss, Kuyt wasnt giving him much help and he handled it very well, as he did against Chelsea.

Reina's saves were great, think he did 5 in a row at one point. Played very well.

Well it was refreshing. the team selection to start with. No PFK of course, but Dagger back, nice performance by Kelly, sure he will get more consistent starts. Most of all the substitutions and the timing of it, around the 55 minute mark which gives the incoming players time to make an impact. The sternness in sub'ing Torres. Surely better days are ahead. At the same time, needless to say we need some additions to the squad. Wings are all most ineffective, no quality passing in the final third.
Hope we also see some action in the transfer window to give a serious threat to the coveted 4th place..

Unless your Chelsea, City, Arsenal or the Mancs. In which case such challenges are yellow card worthy.
We all LOL'd at Stoke for whining about the two tiered-ness of this league when it comes to it being fair, decision wise.

I dare anyone to tell me they dont agree with them now?

While Stoke may have had a point, I don't think LFC are in any second tier in that regard.

What I do think is that Webb has it in for us. It's personal with him. The track record suggests nothing less.
The one most important thing that we all must remember, in case it slipped our mind, is this club is much more important and bigger than anybody. I'll never forget that and anybody that does is being a wee bit irresponsible and stupid I think because the club is more important than any one individual. The Club is, The Club.

What a shite game of football. On to Blackpool and hopefully a semblance of dignity restoration.

What to take out of that game? Bravo Martin Kelly, again.

By the way anyone notice the unfortunate timing when the ITV cameras showed one of our supporters in full voice?

Another point about this - anyone get the impression that the ITV director/TV editor knew what they were doing when they decided to do a close up on that lad?

That was a good performance and something to build on, undone by a disgrace of a penalty decision - no shame in that. Lets just focus on Blackpool now, if the players show the same application we'll get a win there.

We had ten players for over an hour. We conceded a non-penalty in the first minute. We had a manager who I don't think has had a single training session with the players yet. If you still think we were shite given the circumstances, fuck off.

Spot on that mate. If anything its was the mancs who were shite.

Anyway our problem isnt pride and passion against the mancs its the horrible performances against side like Blackpool, Im really hoping we can win that game.
Also 4th place isnt going to happen so dont even mention it, the best we can hope for is to win the Europa League and it should now be our priority.

It was a red, there's no disputing it.

But for fucks sake, Gerrards hasn't "let us down" today. he's mistimed a tackle. That's it. Unfortunatly it was 2 footed, and by the rules of the game he deserved to go.

But some of you need to fucking wind your pessamistic necks in. That was a gutsy performance against the only unbeaten team in the sodding league, the league leaders, who are full of confidence compared to us who are at rock bottom both performances and confidence wise.

I despise being beaten by those c*nts, but i'm brimming with optimism today. Seeing the attacking change after 55 mins with babel coming and looking hungry, despite there being no service as we were under the kosh in the second half.

I thought we looked miles better all over the pitch to be honest and my biggest regret is that this managerial  change wasn't done a couple of months ago when it was obvious that it should have been. We tried to get it down and play it, especially in the first half. We moved the ball quicker, there was some movement off the ball.

Encouraging signs for me, now we have to go to blackpool and build on this.
And when you find yourself along the untrodden path
Remember me with a smile, a drink, a gesture or a laugh
And a toast for the man who loves every hour of every day
And a feast for the friends and faces met along way

Howard Webb MOTM.

Was all over the pitch, had the assist for Yernited's goal. Bossed midfield, such was his influence you'd think Gerrard wasn't even on the pitch. Was a danger with every set piece of the match and was only let down by his team mates to keep the score @ 1-0.

It was nice to see some real respect between Kenny and Torres when he came off.

Yeah, Kenny shook his hand and patted him on the neck, but took him off, which shows that he cares about him as a player but also cares about winning.

A reminder to anyone who thought that it was just the manager that is the problem, it isn't, we're just not good enough.  And it's sad to say that one of the finest players I've ever seen in a red shirt no longer looks remotely interested in playing for us.

Surely you're on a wind up mate? Massive improvement from all of them even Torres although he's still got a long way to go.

Very dodgy pen (fucking dive!), and the sending off was questionable.

Happy with the performance from the lads, not fearing the future as I have been recently when I see passion from the players and a manager who tries to alter the game.

Finally, Kelly should definitely be the 1st choice RB.

Please stop digging. His personality doesn't even matter here. He has improved a fucking lot since last year and has built up a great partnership with Meireles in the center. He's feeling more confident and it shows in his decisions, also he's building up leadership qualities. Very steady on the ball.

Torres was poor, but completely isolated again. And that situaution was made even worse when stevie stupidly got sent off.

The fact is Torres is and never will be a target man. Its just not the type of player he is.
I think it is his lack of effort and sulking that is the problem.

We were always chasing the game, after that god-awful decision from Webb in the first minute. Apart from that and the somewhat contentious sending off of Gerrard, I though we played quite well for the position in which we'd been placed.

With the current squad we ought to be a side challenging for a top 6 spot as a minumum. We've fallen behind the likes of Spurs and Man City. Both of whom have spent a huge amount over the last two years.

Still worried about Torres, he just looks like he wants out to me?

Instead we went out there and fucking took it to them. We had Agger at CB, oh the joy I felt at seeing him marauding into their half, it can't be put into words. How nice to see a LB who was solid yet skilful with positional sense in Aurelio. I saw us string more than 2 passes together, I saw us play the ball forward, play with width and attack the opposition, and most of all I saw players who wanted it and who believed. They were hungry, they were up for it. They were players who were being utilised in their correct positions and who were being asked to play football, not to lump it up and hope for the best.
