There's an article with all of the players and staff up on the website now: http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/meet-the-ladies-in-red

Thought this was interesting:

Name: Katie Brusell
Age: 25
Birth place: Manchester
Position: Midfield or striker
Date signed: 2009
Caps: England U19
Fact: I'm employed by both Liverpool and Manchester United

I'm presuming she doesn't mean as part of the playing staff for both, works as a steward / in catering for them on match days perhaps?

I have no idea what her actual job is, but United don't have a ladies team (they axed it a few years ago) so she is definitely not playing staff.

And I thought Becky Easton's fact was the best until they spotted their mistake and changed it. I can't imagine what it's like to be the nephew of Paul O'Grady.

3 point deduction and lots of drug tests coming 'Miss' Easton's way ;)

Seriously, top result vs the Villa - cheers for the updates Paul & Kellan.

Looking forward to seeing how they play on ESPN this Saturday vs Everton Ladies.

Does anyone know if I can subscribe 'just' to ESPN as a bolt on to the freeview I get, or do I need to sell my soul to Satan and get a 'package' and a decoder from one of the bloodsucking vampiric satellite tv conglomerates?

Yes mate - though I think you have to go through topuptv or btvision for it. Beware connection costs - though I think topuptv has no minimum contracts.

and http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=268203.560 may be of interest. Seems a few lads get good tv channels showing the footy for around £10+ a month, though it's not freeview.

Some serious PR work going on for the ladies this season.

Part of me feels a little sorry for last seasons ladies team who were dropped. Cant really blame them for the system that was used.

Gutted. Was on the motorway just now, wanted a few days in Libpool and see the derby but the weather is shocking and the forecast worse. Ah well. Great to see the extra publicity for the ladies. Got a good feeling about this season :scarf

Saw a few games on espn with Bristol and Birmingham last year. Was impressed with the quality and there were some fierce challenges flying in.

Good to hear/see we are looking to improve.

I'm going to brave the elements tonight and get myself to Widnes. So can I leave the job of providing stream links in the capable hands of somebody here? ESPN coverage starts at 7.15pm

And if anybody is willing to record and upload the game I will be eternally grateful.

Who have the ladies signed this season? They were favourite prior to kick off vs Everton and I seem to remember Everton and Arsenal being by far the best women teams about, so for the ladies team to be favourites pre kick off... Says a lot.

Anyone? Fara Williams is one but who are the others?

Stonewall Red card.

Not sure if it was DOGSO, though - she was far enough outside of the box for the referee to have doubt. Ten yards closer and it would have been clearer.

Difficult conditions but good game so far. Johnson should've been off there, definite red card. Liverpool ended the half strongly, shame we couldn't score. Considering all the changes, this team looks very promising.

Need an orange ball - I've got an excellent stream but I can't see the ball at times.

Must admit it has been years since I've watched any ladies football and I've been really impressed with how far the game has come, and I imagine if they were on a decent pitch it would be better again.

Anyone any idea why the club has suddenly invested so much in women's football? The cynic in me thinks its something to do with marketing the club in countries where the sport is more popular with women than it is men but is their another reason?

I'd agree there was an article on LFC ladies on today's football focus and they made a comment regarding the popularity of the women's game in the USA particularly.

Does it satisfy the Four D's of DOGSO, though, is the question - and for me, it doesn't satisfy the "Distance from Goal" criteria for a red card
