I did this banner for my dad when he was in istanbul... its in my avatar, cant load it cos its too large. very quick work... i would love to see one reading "HAIL POPE BENEDICTEZ"

Really like this idea. I've never had one of these big banners before and was just wondering how people get them, are they homemade jobs or do you get them made at a shop? Just think something like this with so many cups on might look a bit shit if not done properly

Im quite fond of the clever banners though and think this what makes us different to other clubs. everyones aloud an opinon though

Here's an idea I have for a banner:

A Liverbird on the flag for the Basque region.

Why? 2 reasons:

1) In honour of Xabi Alonso
2) To represent the City of Liverpool being different from the rest of England. The Basques don't want to be part of Spain, and similarly, there is a feeling amongst Liverpudlians that we are "Scouse not English".

Not sure about a yellow Liverbird, but if it was Red it wouldn't really be visible, unless it was shrunk in which case it would be too small. I'm sure Rafa, Luis and Nando wouldn't take offence to it, Xabi doesn't seem to have a problem with the Spanish flags.

Comments, ideas, suggestions and your own banner ideas.

The next banner should be a roll of honour ...... Shanks - Bob - Fagan - Kenny - Rafa
the dates of the Championships - European, UEFA, FA, and League cup Victories.

Bill the artist might do the faces if he has the time, I will chip in if we decide to ahead.

If The Liver Banner is just for Euro nights and derbies etc. we should ask the club to transfer the big LFC banner down to the Anfield Road on these games..

Great idea the balloons but you know all that tinsell and silver foil would the HJC buy the stuff or get it made and sell it outside the kop for say £1 a go, should make loads of cash and the Kop would look great. The club might allow the HJC to sell it on the Kop so the seats could be multi coloured

exactly mate, the day we organise the kop like this with flares, smoke etc it will be fucking boss.
But We have to keep a degree of uniqueness about us because we are the famous kopites afterall.

I go to a few italian games and i tell you mate. The corieographies are a joy to watch. But they have these ultra groups with a leader who work with the club, for these lads the corieographies, banners and organised support stuff is a full time job.

Load of balloons wouldnt be a bad idea, the safety fascists cant argue with that.

I see. We have groups too like rawk, raotl, tia etc, but for big games if everyone contributes it would be just as special.
I was seeing "Rafa's referendum rules", in malta i remember instead of flares we got in a whole gas cylinder kind of thing and we had lots of smoke

because I came over from Liverpool and paid a couple of hundred quid to see a game, (cheap ryanair flights,hotel,match tickets,shitload of shopping

etc)

Think of the people in the past that used to follow the club all over the country and Europe (My old fella for example) who cant get to the games now because of family,work committments.

I get a bit pissed off at the way some "supporters" measure their loyalty to the club through the amount of money they spend getting to games etc. we spent a shitload going to Istanbul and the rest over the years but you dont see us claiming that we are martyrs or "better" fans for it.

Its a sad day for football with these modern supporters (alot that arent working class) who have the cash to wave about and expect us to respect them as "worthy" for their ability to do this. It just shows the effect of the emphasis on making money is having on a great traditional club like ours. Taking away from us the local, dad and son, mates sitting next to each other, the working class atmosphere of football in the past.

You cant measure your class as a supporter by the size of your wallet.
