Van Dijk not team trained yet this week.

I'd go Quansah and Gomez centre half. Carry on giving Quansah minutes to round off a strong debut season for him and give Gomez some much needed minutes at centre half ahead of the new manager coming in. Konate is in poor form himself and I think Van Dijk has ended the season poorly too.

As Klopp doesn't have to think about the previous or next game it will be an interesting to see how he lines up in midfield as fatigue doesn't come into it. Sounds like van Djik will probably make it. That would mean only Matip, Thiago, Jota, and Doak are out. I'd like to see the below.

                           Alisson

Trent          Konate          van Djik          Robertson

      Jones          Mac Allister          Gravenberch

           Salah          Nunez          Diaz

Subs: Kelleher, Tsimikas, Gomez, Quansah, Endo, Bajcetic, Szoboszlai, Elliott, Gakpo

I'd start Gakpo before Nunez.
Do hope Gravenberch starts, probably won't.

I wouldn't. With their suicidal high back line there'll be space in behind to exploit and as frustrating as it will be to see how many times he's caught offside Darwin does seem to be quicker than Cody and we'll need that pace to get in behind

Top OP #666.

Last gasp time for Spurs here, they are 7 points behind Villa with an inferior goal difference  (albeit with a game in hand vs City ). A point not much use to them then. Gunfight at the OK Corral time then. I predict a 5+ goal game. Son, of course, for them and Salah and Nunez on the redemption trail for us.
I hope it's sunny, I hope it's loud and I hope it's fun.
I would put Quansah on as well. Also hope Joe Gomez get's time on the park. Come on Reds, sock it to 'em.

Not sure how, they hadn’t played in ages before last weekend.

I think we’ll either win easily or have a stupid 2-2 or 3-3 kind of game.

It's only their 38th game of the season. It's our 56th! They've barely played midweek all season, that's about the only one we haven't played.

They really haven't made the most of their easier schedule if they miss out on top 4, particularly to a lower budget team in Villa who've played a shitload of European games.

I've got a cunning plan. Seeing as we start shite in every game and only start playing when behind, let's just kick the ball into our own goal from the kick off ( I know we might miss) then we'll put on a hell of a performance for the entire game and give ourselves the maximum amount of time for the now inevitable comeback.
It's so crazy it just might work.

2-1 to the reds

Just have fun. Team might even play well if they relax and don't worry about the result.

Don't play kids for the sake of it, play a team that can play high tempo, attacking footy. Also play those who've played the biggest part in our success, this should be a celebration.

Are you arguing that playing too often is bad and the inverse must be good?  Footballers - even our very own for season after season under Klopp - have managed to play to their best every 3 - 4 games right up to the end of the season and their legs haven't fallen off yet.

I think it's also widely accepted that it's better to have your players maintain their fitness levels by playing every 3 - 4 games and doing little to no training.  Not great for preparing for games, but keeps the team sharp.  Training can flatten players because you can't simulate the same intensity of a match.

If Spurs fitness staff / manager think that's a good thing, they are about as clueless as they seem on defending set pieces - or defending in general.

Ultimately, I think it's a huge advantage for us and part of the reason I'm predicting we win this comfortably.

Assuming the Villa result goes well, we could have the pleasure of mathematically ending Spurs' top 4 hopes right? It the least we could do after their nonsensical reaction to beating us last game.

We'll feast on their suicidal high line and have about 30 sitters.

1-5 final result as we can't score.

Spurs could unravel pretty badly if we score early. Ange was making some ugly noises about his squad after their Chelsea defeat, and for the first time that I can recall this season we have an advantage in recovery/prep time over our opponents.

You do realise Paul Tierney is reffing and it's his last chance to put the boot into a manager that publically questioned his impartiality regarding Liverpoool?

We owe this lot for parading their families around pitch to Robbie Williams music after beating us with 9 men, to a last min own goal, after a perfectly good goal was disallowed due to an unprecedented VAR error.

So naturally be 1-0 down after 10 mins.
