I have one niggling complaint about TAW this season - we've gone into games against Chelsea x2 and Arsenal where the entire panel on the preceding podcast have been sure we were going to tank them. And even against City and Napoli, there was a degree of over-confidence IMO. I think the contributors just need to be a little more realistic in their outlook. If it was a one-off then fine, but its become quite persistent now.

They are a pretty positive bunch by and large. I find that welcome remedy as I am very much a glass half-empty, see all the negatives sort of guy.

One thing I would like to see is a bit more in-depth coverage of the technical side of thing. Our very own BabuYagu does amazing stuff for other fan sites. I would be made up if they got him on occasionally.
Roger Scruton was right about everything.

I wouldn't take it on face value. It's more like the fan talking I guess.

Absolutely cringy interview with Man City correspondent in the latest Coach home. It’s all fine apparently, other teams did it before City. Well not since FFP was introduced, which they DELIBERATELY made mockery of. Apparently it’s a sign of a competitive league that they got 100 points, it’s all down to Guardiola who btw would never even consider them without limitless funds.

The Pink should be interesting this evening.

Is Neil allowed to be negative about us looking completely devoid of ideas and making a late substitution straight out of the 2015 playbook?

Other than the mad ones like dortmund the pink is usually best after we lose. Plenty to criticise tonight though

The Pink was very reasonable I thought.  There’s not much that can be said in a positive way after a performance like that but I felt it didn’t go over the top.

As others have said previously, it is very theraputic after a bad defeat.

Absolutely cringy interview with Man City correspondent in the latest Coach home. It’s all fine apparently, other teams did it before City. Yeah, I felt it was a bit strange how they downplayed it and basically said it’s not City’s fault.  Obviously Guardiola is a top manager and he gets something extra out of the players that perhaps Pellegrini couldn’t but the players, and Pep, wouldn’t be there without the money and if the allegations are true then City have broken the rules.

I do enjoy the Coach Home in general though.  Good to hear some kind of positivity from the Newcaslte and Huddersfield fans after a tough start to their season.

Yeah, I think it's perfectly reasonable after last night. It's not like we won the game 4-1 or anything.

Listening to that Man City guy and his apologist nonsense is just painful.

'there was money in the game before we came along'

What sort of an argument is that? It's just bollox.
They broke the rules, and when called on it, they threatened to mire UEFA in a legal death-grip until they relented and made a deal. Gibbo went way too easy on him, offering no counter argument at all.

Their inability to grasp that people are objecting to it because they've committed fraud as opposed to overspending on FFP while being upfront and challenging the legality of it is very funny.

Want to take FFP down? Fine, take it through a court and try doing that. Don't complain when people find issue with multi million pound fraud.

Added to the fact he was saying us and utd etc were lucky that we were at the top when the premier league started. No you moron we built up a team and support over decades. His whole interview was laughable and was disappointed gibbo didn't challenge him at all and more worryingly seemed to agree with him.

Someone made a superb point in one of the most recent shows, which went something like this:

If City keep smashing teams every single game, while Liverpool keep scraping through to 3 points, thus clinging firmly to their coat-tails, sooner or later they're gonna get exasperated.

I love that. It's making me begin to dream.

You have to accept him for what he is, their main sponsor, probably a mate to some degree, and whilst not my cup of tea, I kind of admire him for standing outside their ground and possibly away matches selling a paper fanzine, even though he earns a wad. He must get some verbal stick with the shite playing of his team. Or maybe that is his kink.

Think Robbo's been doing a lot of work with The Fans Agency (he tweeted out an interview he did with Danny Wilson - the manager not the ex Liverpool defender! - this morning) so I'd imagine that'd be taking up a lot of his time at the moment. Hope he's back on the podcasts soon, he's always a good listen.
