Cheap Flights
« on: December 23, 2007, 01:56:15 pm »
Bit of hassle, but ryanair have got return flights for 26 euros all in to begamo milan from alicante you can fly to alicante from liverpool on the 9th then fly to milan on the 10th, then fly back from spain on the 12th. The return flight from liverpool to alicante is 80 pound, bit of traveling but if it saves you couple of hundred quid its worth it.

Why dont you just fly from Glasgow for about £20 one-way? Bit of a drive but would rather that than getting all sorts of uneccesary flights meself. Thats the route I am thinking of going anyway, Fly out 10th come back 12th Glasgow-Milan. Return think its about £55. Sound option.

Stop being tight bastards and pay £110 from Manchester. Less hassle and no 3 hour expensive train to London/Bristol.

Oh wait a minute, the flight I got from Manchester for £110 is now about £260/£300. Nevermind!

What times are your flights? Looks likely you are on the same flight as me and my mate. We are going to hire a car, if you are interested in joining us give me a call, 07970 831750. Only doing it this way as knowing how long the police will hold us back in the ground, and how far from the town centre the ground is we felt that getting a car might be the easiest option. Also I might be able to get a spare ticket.

We'll see you on the flight, same 'easy-jet' fight and times.

As for being held back, it happens to all British teams. I remember Rome, they held us back for more than 2 hours. When we did get out there were no coaches at the ground. And when they eventually turned up, those who were not going straight to the airport just got dumped outside the city centre station, which was closed. Juve was the same a couple of years ago, we got bused back to the central station and just left there.

Would there not be the chance of problems with fans being dumped in odd places late at night?

Would there not be the chance of problems with fans being dumped in odd places late at night?

When we were in Rome we were held back so long. We came out of the ground and found that there were no coaches waiting to take us back to the city centre. Me and my mate decided to walk. Along with a group of about 20-30 we started heading in, what we thought was, the right direction. After about 10mins walking we came to a large crossroads where another fan was running towards us. He also had decided to walk, he was now being chased, or had been chased. We all headed back to the ground where we found that the coaches had eventually turned up. By the time we got to the station in the centre it was about 2am, all the Italians were asleep, and getting a taxi was a nightmare.

In Turin a couple of years ago we got held in the ground for ages. When we finally got out we were put onto buses. As we were about to pull away from the ground the bus in front of ours got attacked. The police strolled over, not in much of a hurry to baton their own, and told the crowd of Juve fans to, basically, 'go away'. We were hurtled at high speed with a police escort through the town to the main station near the city centre. As soon as we got there fans fled away in taxis or to the trains, me, I could see my hotel from where we were dropped off. It was only about 20-30 yards away, and made a run for it. There were a few Italians hanging around, but not many, as again it was gone 1am, and the thing about these grounds is they are outside the centre, and those few hours after the game the police had already cleared the central areas, and who really wants to wait till 1-2 o'clock in the morning  just to have a scrap and possibly nicked?

But one thing that is true if your caught in the wrong place, whatever time of day they will have a go. I have found that train stations are not a good place to be stranded at. In Turin the night before the game a Liverpool fan was having a drink at the station bar when a group of Juve fans came into the bar and gave him a bloody good hiding. It made the news the following day, and they had apparently caught some of the offenders, but never did hear what happened to them, probably got let off!!

Don't let this put anyone off by the way, just remember to be sensible AND respect their culture. To be honest of all the times i've been abroad with the Reds we are very well behaved, but as in all walks of life you do get the odd dickhead!!

Then flying back the next day, leave Milan around midday, arrive in Germany for 3 I think, then wait for a couple of hours for flight back to Stansted, should be home for 10pm Wednesday hopefully.

I think i've found the flights MomoIsBoss is using. They are a penny a flight then 9.99 in taxes. So Stansted to Dusseldorf is £20.00 return then Dusseldorf to Milan is £15.00 return. Found them through the Ryanair website

you can fly from liverpool on the day for £60 via ryanair.   Perfect timings.  Coming home (wednesday afternoon) there are still cheap options (£70) just means going through spain.

There are cheaper options still than that one.  There is one easy option that lets u fly over for 35 pounds and return for 40 euros.

They are both from Liverpool thru Milan and back again.  The only down side is the return for 40 Euro's is not the day after. There is also return flight from Manchester available for $260 AUD or about 100 Pounds. :)

Yeah they are the ones, and trust me I have thoroughly checked every option and flying from London is the only one if you want to spend as little as possible like I did. If you can afford to spend a bit you can go from Liverpool to Barca or other places but they are around £120 for the lot.
