I've no idea what game you were watching if you thought we were the better side. We were a point blank save away by Alisson from being 2-0 down in the first half. Salah had a great chance but other than that we created nothing. They scored a goal and created two other really good chances. Admittedly the third of those chances shouldn't have resulted in a goal (the penalty situation), but it still required a very good save by Alisson and it should have been finished the first time around. It truly is awful and I'd love to know what kind of rose tinted specs you have on if you can't see that.
I know what I saw, so please don’t patronise me. I stand by every word of that post. We have no established centrebacks, and despite that, Klopp (rightly in my view) refuses to relinquish his principles. So we go a goal down, and have to chase the game. Everton happily revert to a gameplan used successfully by other recent Anfield visitors, and they defend with a mixture of tenacity and luck.
Our slow centrebacks notwithstanding, we dominated the first 20 minutes of the second half, but given we were literally down to bare bones, it was always a risk we would be punished on the break.
I despair of posters who create a whole post match narrative based on the result, or clear cut chances, and fail to acknowledge the fine margins. Did Everton have the clearest chances? Of course they fucking did! Does that mean we were ‘awful’ and they were deserving winners? Does it fuck.
