It’s been that for about 20 years. The Jacaranda next door has been the Hacaranda for Donkey’s years.

Judging by our user names we are a similar age so would have been in there around the same time. One of my mates reckoned he never failed to pull in there  ;D

Had a mad 22nd birthday in there. Been on the absinthe prior then my mate was that pissed he fell down the stairs. Taxi for him after that haha.

Used to have a few in Slaters then cross over to there.

You with a decent sized group of mates?

It's not my thing at all, but have a few before you get there and if you're with a decent group it's not too bad.

7 of us going, planning on having few before. Annoyingly have to be up really early on the Saturday so can’t go too wild. Feel like it’s a place that you need to be pretty smashed for if it’s not your normal gig ha

Does anyone remember the Baa Bar I think in Slater Street. Was quite a cool trendy gaff. Had some good nights in there probably early/mid nineties. Haven't been up that way in years. Guess it doesn't exist anymore.

We used to go the one in Hardman Street in the 2000s/2010s, just as I turned 18. Cheap as anything.

Think its a shisha bar these days.

So apparently Scruffy Murphy's and The Abbey Road (both either side of The Croc, Harrington Street) are owned by the same people. Its a bit odd having near-identical bars pretty much adjacent to each other.

May have been mentioned on here before, but the proliferation of plastic Irish bars in the city centre is turning a once unique city centre into a mini copycat of an Irish town, I imagine.

Now I enjoy a Guinness as much as anyone else and I use an O’Neills in the town where I now live. But whenever I come home for a visit it seems another two or three pubs have gone ‘Irish’.
Anyone else noticed this ?

Outside Central station is a shit hole overrun with plastic Irish pubs.

Having said that the environs of most railway stations are shit holes.

I know this isn't classed as in town, but it's my mates 30th and he's hired upstairs at 156 tonight in Crosby. I'm driving from Leeds and can't see anywhere decent to park near.

Anyone from Crosby help with good places to park?

You need the business end of town mate, still a load of traditional boozers to be found  - start off by the tunnel entrance in The Ship & Mitre and then next door into the The Excelsior and then just wander toward the Pier Head weaving between Dale Street and Tithebearn Street taking in

The Dead Crafty Beer Company....

The Rose & Crown...

The Poste House...

The Vernon Arms...

Shenanigans.....

The Lion tavern...

The Railway....

Rigby's...

Lady of Mann...

The Saddle Inn....

Ye Hole in Ye Wall...

The Pig and Whistle...

Ma Boyles....

from there cut back over to Fenwick Street and
The Alchemist....

The Slaughterhouse....

The Cornmarket....

then around the corner to The Old Bank....The Captain Alexander...and end up in The Liverpool!

best pub crawl in Liverpool for my money ..and one I'm itching to catch up with post-madness.....just beware of the £1.50 trebles and Ozzy Whites in The Posthouse...otherwise the crawl could be over before it's begun.... :o 8)

Over early on Saturday and taking mate over to show the city inbetween the game. Wondering if this list is still good?

All of the above are still open except The Lady of Mann which up until recently was closed.

Another good tour which is worth considering is the other end of town.

Start off at Peter Kavanagh's, Egerton Street off Catharine Streetm then the rest are mere two minute strolls/walks/staggers tops;

The Blackburne Arms

The Belvedere

The Ye Cracke

The Pilgrim

The Fly in The Loaf

The Roscoe Head

The Grapes.

All Rolls Royce of pubs and defo worth consideration.

I wouldn't bother with the last part of it - although the Liverpool had a facelift last time I went past it at least externally. Certainly the Dale Street/Tithebarn Street crawl is the best area for pubs in town, can't go wrong with a crawl round there.
