Yeah the last year or two they have been incredible. Don't be too worried if they drift a little either.

I'm going to do the double with Ladcrooks at 9am Best Odds Guaranteed and they boost the odds as well it's quite a nice concession

Thanks for the tip!

A guide to the 2yo''s here:

https://www.racingpost.com/news/racings-back/trainer-quotes-to-help-guide-you-through-the-six-two-year-old-races-at-newmarket/435889

Charlie Appleby, trainer of Magical Land (2.25), Creative Force (3.00), Sky Angel (3.35) and Sunset Memory (4.10)

The colts are sharper than the fillies. After this week at Newmarket we’ll know where we stand in terms of Royal Ascot two-year-olds. Of the four who run on Thursday I particularly like the Frankel colt Magical Land. He's from a family with natural pace.
----

Just confirms the stats.. back the colts in a double!:) That's what i'm doing just a small stake for a bit of interest.

Didn't see the race for the Frankel colt? 6f a bit on the sharp side for him? They all seem to want further.

Frustrating that the short priced one couldn't win!

That's why i dont bet in those races really. Minefield.

Tomorrow's card is brilliant though so looking forward to that.

Ghaiyyath v Stradivarius looks a straight head to head.
Defoe the best of the rest?
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Not sure I’d dismiss Defoe that easily. Distance may on the short side for Stradivarius these days plus never know which version of Ghaiyyath will show. At the prices I’d rather be with Defoe if having a bet (I’m not), but should be a good race to watch

I wouldn't dismiss the O'Brien pair easily either. I think the Leger trip was spot on for him last year, but he never got there and he'd probably need this to be run at a furious lick. If Ghayyaith does run fresh on the front and softens them up he'd be well capable of picking up the pieces I think. What will we get from AVD? God knows, he's ran 5 times since he won the Derby and 2 of them have been horrendous runs. The other few were pretty good. Would need to bring his A game and then some. Probably require a career best. I think it'd be a no bet race for me, just an interesting one to watch.

I like Strad but also Van Dyke. O'Brien s a Group 1 monster and Ryan Moore on board  you can't discount them.  I think I will back whoever emerges as 2nd Fav (looks like Strad at the moment) . The market will speak volumes tomorrow so keep an eye on it.

Yeah Derby winners rarely run well again and we rarely see them again. They have kept him in training for a reason and tomorrow could be their plan. It is currently 7/1 if that shortens into say 9/2 or less then I will be interested...

Its interesting that Strad has never won over 12f  while AVD is more a specialist .

Also Moore/O'Brien in  Group races are a strong pairing and so is Dettori/Gosden.   Gosden is also in flying form since Monday he's had 5 winners so their running well.

I find it hard to split them to be honest.  I might back BOTH or look to the market for guidance. I'll make a decision nearer the time.

Should be a cracking race though and truly fascinating,

Right... Having slept on it i'm just going to back the 2nd Fav either Strad or AVD whichever of those 2 is 2nd Fav.

Looks like Strad to me will qualify though you never know. Money could come very late for AVD nearer  the off and that's when my decision will be made

Never underestimate Ballydoyle!  They're very difficult to get right at the best of times.

Archie Watson is relentless with the 2yos. I'm going with Broome in the Coronation Cup, very small bet at a nice price.

Poor from ITV I think, got a stacked day and they've put it on ITV4 so Judge Rinder and Tenable can be shown. This is an amazing opportunity for racing and they could've had it in the spotlight. A lot of people won't even know it's on.

I imagine the front 3 will all be happy enough with that as a starting point. Defoe a bit disappointing after chasing the pace he was the one who faded

Ghaiyyath just burned them off. AVD was closing but the gap was too big by then. Stradivarius and Broome were just taken off their feet.

English King being backed off the boards, I would've had a cut off him at a nice price for the Derby but that looks like it's gone now. He was very impressive though.

No idea they were running the trials at Lingfield today. Last years Derby winner came from that race (first in a while mind)

The Oaks winner did as well (Anapurna). I'm not convinced they're the strongest trials, due to no Irish horses etc but English King couldn't have won more easily. Military March is the one I like in the Derby. Guineas trip will almost certainly be too sharp unless there's a ferocious pace on.

Ghaiyyath ran a course record time today, so everything in behind should be marked up accordingly if they don't re-oppose anywhere.

Not taking anything away as it looked an impressive performance but as a slight caution I’d say the ground is very fast. Been no rain around here for weeks if not a Month or so. Don’t think it was a bad prep for Stradivarius Gold Cup defence in 2 weeks though

No doubt those things are factors, but a horse like Anthony Van Dyck was returning off the back of a shocking run last season, so I'm inclined to mark up what he's done there behind a horse that had a pipe opener in Dubai and ran a rattling fast time.

Race before the Guineas could throw up a Derby horse or two. First two in the market look interesting not sure if the Queens horse is entered though.

Looking forward to watching the Guineas, Pinatubo is the most exciting 2yr old since Frankel for me, be nice to see him fulfil his potential at 3

Not got too involved so far, was just taking a watching brief to start.

Pinatubo will take some beating but value may be had with Wichita and Kameko e.w in the 2000 Guineas.

Mark Johnston seems to be in form with 8/36, trying to read his form is very unpredictable though.

Haydock 3 days on the bounce, be heavy by teatime if this rain continues

Can't wait to see Waldkonig in that race. Could be new market leader for the Derby if he's as good as they think.

Was very impressive on debut. Should have enough today but I think Al Aasy wil run well and has course form.

Reading between the lines, it looks like Gosden has smoothed over some of the cracks, was hinted at in the RP recently.
