Was discussing about him with a Wolves fan, who has been watching them for a very long time. He said that Jota is undoubtedly the most talented player they had. Just that he suffered from confidence at times and was very streaky.
He said that he is amazing on the counter attacks because of his direct running and to just gain 40-50 yards up the field with the ball in possession. He is deceptively quick he said, and has great dribbling, very two footed in dribbles.
One complaint he had was that his finishing is very hit hard and straight, in the sense there is not a lot of subtlety in his finishing. He rarely if ever does a curled finish in the corner. But, he can finish hard with either feet which makes up for that.

All in all, he feels Klopp can take him to great heights, which I agree with.
Hats off to Bill on his throne,
He set the club's standards in stone.

I can see the resemblance to Suarez in his dribbling style. He runs at the defence and barrels through the gaps and comes out the other side with the ball. He reacts quickly to the little deflections which makes him look lucky. Only it's not luck, it's skill. If he can get the Suarez nutmeg down, we'll be laughing.

I've always liked him as a player while he was bossing it in the championship for Wolves so buzzing with this one as he's only 23 and playing under Klopp he will only get better and better.

Michael Cox did a nice article on the subject of Jota in The Athletic today.

The gist is that he gets a lot of opposition players sent off, because he times his press incredibly well (very like Mane with pens I guess)... and that he's very two footed and positionally versatile. This is him during his season at Porto - percentages of game time at various positions.

And here's last season at Wolves.

Just read this article.  Really exciting to think that he's going to fit right in stylistically with his pressing and movements off the ball.  Another example of the manager and recruiting team nailing a transfer.

Decent enough, looked lively. Nearly bagged a goal, pressed and got back and helped out defensively. Couldn't ask for any more or any less to be honest.

I’d say ok. He didn’t do a lot and to be fair we were a bit disjointed when he came on. He was neither good nor bad and it’s far too early to say how he’s going to fit in.

Was busy, clearly wanted the ball and showed for it often, showed some nice close control while moving with the ball at speed and almost steered one round the keeper into the corner. Gave it away a few times unnecessarily but I saw this as evidence of him being a risk-taker in possession and some first night nerves, you could see he was always looking for the opening to shoot when this wasn't necessarily the right option.

Looked decent though and promises much for the future.

Some league debut that! Always lively and dangerous, scored a brilliant goal, could've easily bagged another on the Mo mix-up and got a bollocking from Milner. Pretty eventful 10 minutes.
