Being aware of "Rawk's favourite painting" thread - posters
« on: September 27, 2005, 12:43:12 am »
I'm looking for a couple of poster's to decorate my living room, something that you don't get tired looking at but feel that paying, perhap's wrongly  :-\  £42 is a tad much for a poster !

Do any Rawk'ers have any suggestion's for good sites ( I've already checked out allposters.com ) ?

Many Thanks Matey, I appreciate many artist's myself ( whilst not being an expert !! ), Monet, Bosch, Rembrandt and Munch being up there, I'm not looking to buy a masterpiece but I'm starting to sense, after looking around, that £40-50 may be the only way I'm going to have something I appreciate on my walls !

Dude, I am genuinely appreciative  :wave, I'm just uncomfortable with paying £40-50 for a poster, I'd rather spend it on a load of bird's and let them fly freely.  ;)

Heh, thats a lot for some birds.

Now if you had £200-300 for some chicks we'd be in business!

National Gallery, on Trafalgar Square, has an excellent gift shop with very reasonably priced, high quality posters.

I bought Van Goghs "Cornfield" for about £10, A1 size.
I'm no longer on RAWK, but if you need to contact me about anything, you can email me on nigelmorrison@connectfree.co.uk

Don't know where you live Harmar, but quite a few cities in UK have a store called ART. Sell tons of artwork, including modern art prints. Most seem good value too.

These guys will take a photo and convert it into Pop Art, either for a poster or will frame it...have been meaning to do it with an Istanbul related picture myself. Supposed to be pretty good, kinda iconic stuff like the famous Pacino/Hepburn pop art
