Greetings football fans, young and old, and welcome to another exciting addition of the UEFA Europa League. Today's match features your might Reds, led by the charismatic 'Normal one' and the Russian outfit, FC Rubin Kazan. If you recall Klopp's first match in charge at Liverpool was the reverse of this fixture, were their was a 1-1 draw at Anfield goals from each Can and Devic (who was lucky not to be sent off, and spend nearly as much time lying on the pitch at Willian this past weekend). This match is not so close to home, we have had to travel to central Russia. Klopp is breaking all kinds of records here, making further inland in RUssia then his countrymen did during the war. Hopefully the Red men will prevail again (see what I did there). Both sides will be without players, Liverpool, mostly due to injury (my do we have quite a few out): Benteke, Sturridge, Ings, Rossiter, Flanno, Henderson, Toure, and Gomez are all listed as injured. While Rubin is missing Kuzmin, though suspension, he got the late second yellow and subsequent red card against us at Anfield. Rubin have had two red cards in Europe this season already, so perhaps our persistent pressing style of play will have them seeing red yet again. Liverpool are on a high at the moment, the thrilling win over last seasons title winners (and the look on Jose and his plastic followers faces) is surely bouying up Klopp's lads.

Less than 4 weeks ago 3 swimming pools, and a diving pool were where the pitch is now.
Grass has been down less than a fortnight.
Pitch looks 'below average' at best.

Ball is worked to Milner and he snaps a shot away from 8 yards that clips the crossbar.

9 Clyne with a cross that was destined to be a goal via Benteke's head until a defender just gets his toe to it and redirects the ball. We're knocking on the door.

13 I make that the first time Rubin have been in our area, Sakho clears easily.
Milner gives a FK away on the corner flag, it's taken and Migs collects a spooned shot from outside the area

16' Sakho lining up a long pass, but instead passes it short, good movement, pass to right, a cross in the box but the keeper claims it nicely. Tries to start a quick move, nothing comes of it.

21' Benteke fouled as he tries to bring the pass from Firmino in control. A lot of potential takers for this, I'm guessing either Coutinho or Milner will take this, Moreno takes it, hits the wall, second ball won and cross put it in, keeper claims it.

24' Run through the middle, tackle from behind, marginally fair, and Kazan will counter here, run down right, cross, Clyne clears, and no Ibe will run away with it, Milner on left, cross/dinks it in, Firmino couldn't control and cleared.

Commentator just said it's his first top flight game for 4 years after the 'Penalty blunder against Scotland'.

And a special mention foe Joe Allen, he's covered every blade of grass and we're not even at the half hour mark.

32 - some possession in our half. Ball in from Moreno cleared. Falls to Ibe who shoots
with his left foot. Blocked. Decent from Milner on the edge of the area, in for Benteke but he is penalised.

At times it gets so crowded in the Kazan area that it looks like a Primary School kickabout at break-time. Surprised they're not playing floating goalie......Mignolet's not had a great deal to do......
