Just glad he's back. He'll play a lot of games so don't be worrying where he'll play or who with. I think he starts at Old Trafford

Think he will be slowly re-integrated.

Think it will be the same midfield as yesterday.

Mac at 6?He is the most creative midfielder we have he needs to stay where he is…Curtis 4th choice at the minute for me.

Macca is playing as a 6.

It has to be, they've done well when playing as a unit and they're all match fit. Curtis can come on for Dom, it'll enable us to keep the tempo high.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

His passing is still a creative weapon from 6. Yes it’s further from goal on average but there’s a good argument that there’s more goals and creativity in the team when you play Mac, Jones andSzoboslai.

No point arguing who should be starting over who. Still plenty of Midweek-Weekend match weeks, Endo and Mac have done incredible at maintaining that midfield amongst injuries, but they will need rest at some point. Jones being back is fantastic and means we can rotate better and keep hunger and fitness amongst all players.

We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Jones. Macca plus 1. The 1 can change depending on the game/who we’re playing

So good to have him back

Exactly what I was thinking. Hopefully Szobo can find the early season form again but Jones is in better form even after coming back from injury.

Not necessarily. Elliott has more than earned a start. Dom if he can regain his form from earlier in the season. Not sure you need Endo in a game like tonight for example

Endo is the second choice after Alexis in midfield. It's them and another.

Nope it’s Jones. Has been nearly all season until he was injured. Endo might be the best third option for most games.

Anyway it’s a good problem to have

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Endo has done really well and been vital to our season. For me Jones and Szobo are a level above in terms of technical ability and above all athleticism.

But are not 6s and moving Mac Allister back there limits his game when he is basically winning us games with 10 g/a in the last 10 games playing as an 8.

Jones, Endo, Mac Allister is our strongest midfield on current form.

He hasn't been playing as an 8 though. He has been playing as a hybrid 6/8. That is something that can happen with either Jones or Szobozslai dropping in and making it a double pivot. Macca could easily have scored twice tonight whilst still playing deeper.

Genuinely baffling to read this given MacAllister played as a 6 this evening… and won us the game? I don’t much mind whether it’s Endo, Mac, Jones or Mac, Jones, Szoboslai. What matters is that it’s Jones (and Mac) in both.

I’ve missed watching him play. He looked as sharp as ever.

I think Endo deserves to keep his place. He also gives the added benefit of freeing up Mac in a more advanced role which he’s excelled in. It’s between Szobo and Jones for the other place. Although, with our upcoming schedule everyone’s going to be rotated I guess.

We were playing 442, Klopp confirmed this after the game so no he wasn’t 6.

Dual pivot, still a 6 ;)

No but fair enough. I still think he’s done plenty from 6 in a creative sense to suggest he can influence the game there in an on the ball sense.

Or two 8s? It was after a corner anyway so actual position is irrelevant.

Great timing for him back.

Looked tidy tonight.

What has that got do with Endo freeing Up Macca to play further forward though. Our system is extremely fluid, we change formations and positions all the time. Even with Endo and Macca endo still plays high up the pitch.

Macca gets to push on when the inverted full back that you hate moves in as the second 6. Jones or Szobozslai can easily become the 2nd pivot when Macca wants to push higher.

Yeah, his ball retention is elite. That then gives us so much control. He is reminiscent of Gini but with more to his attacking game.
