No complacency from the players.
Hopefully win this early and put pressure on the cheats and  Arsenal.

My preference is close to yours (Jones Szobo and Grav). Wouldn't start Szoboslai? Or is that just because you think he needs rest so rotating?

Hopefully this is quite handy timing of this fixture given our squad is much better equipped than theirs to handle little rest, and theres fan unrest to make things difficcult for them (as long as we avoid a start that unites them)

Szob isn't playing on Thursday so why rest him today, he's getting into a rhythm now it's easier to come back from one rested game rather than two on the bounce.

I'm ok with that if it's true.
We really need to be careful not to overplay Konate and Gomez.
December is critical and we need them.
Objectively this game is the one where Quansah could step in without too much risk, especially if alongside Virgil.

Quansah makes senses given the run of games and definitely agree about Konate. We need him for Utd and Arsenal. I wonder if Gomez would be a good option, I thought a lot of his recent time out has been from impact injuries (maybe my memory is shit....sorry what did I say  :duh) But if we are not going to buy a centre back we pretty much have 4 and need to rotate them including giving Gomez some game time in the middle and in not just the weaker team set ups.

Think we should go full strength for this to get the 3 points and go top. Put pressure on Arsenal. City got Luton so anything less than a win and they are a win away from going top again.

Good break til Utd

Thats not how it works though is it? We have played a lot of football already, the minutes are in the legs and thus there is a risk of injury right now possibly. Its not like we can say dont get injured today because we will have a rest after this.

Just win.

I want to put pressure on Arsenal, crazy today in early December, but it needs to happen.

When we start with Diaz and Nunez we lack an explosive option off the bench. Now that point can be moot if the game is comfortable with an hour gone but it won't always be like that. Having the option of bringing on Diaz with his directness or Nunez with him being fucking Nunez gives us a bit of a trump card if we need it. For that reason I wouldn't be surprised to see Gakpo start in place of one of them today, perhaps Diaz, leaving us with a livelier option later on should it be required.

tbf its obvious that our games at 12-30 are getting the biggest worldwide viewing figures thats why we are continuously being shown at the  peak time in the middle east

It's down to TNT though isn't it and their viewing figures? They're the company that keep selecting us and that's their main slot.

United can't be far off in viewing figures (either here or Asia) and they're rarely put on at that time in comparison.

TNT are just fucking us over.

I know our away form has been holding us back but Palace have been terrible at home and should be exhausted after having to play so much recently with a smaller squad.

Biggest concern will probably be how much pace they have, they're not all that prolific but we'd be a lot more comfortable with Alisson and an in-form Gomez/Konate next to van Dijk.

An early screamer into the top corner to force them out would be nice.

To be fair, at this point, we may actually be taking a small competitive advantage from being selected so frequently. Most of the games have been away and 12:30 starts just kill the atmosphere, which definitely helps an away side. We're also much more used to the routine of an early start than those we play against.

Klopp would definitely prefer additional recovery time, and it's shit for the travelling support, but otherwise I'm struggling to be upset at this particular one.

Weather conditions might favour Palace at first as we will probably have to play at a slower tempo than what we like. Likely a lot of passes will go astray and the ball will not bounce good or go where we expect it. That may allow Palace to nick the ball and capitalise.

That said, if the game becomes a slog I'd expect the Palace players to tire before ours, so it might be a case of containment first half, then turning the screw and grinding the result in the second. Palace will probably sit deeper and deeper as the game goes on and their legs tire. We will maybe need a set piece wonder or a bit of individual brilliance to break them down.

Would be interesting. Was wondering if he would give Diaz a rest and Gakpo has played out there and he and Nunez can swap around to make hard for them.
In Midfield I think Jones starts, maybe instead of Gravenberch? Or would he play him in the 6 and let Endo play Thursday? Will be interesting to see.

My issue with Elliott can be his lack of physicality and he would start over Dom.

I hear that, i’m happy with him starting but get it if he is on the bench. I think he plays the game at pace which is something we often miss in these kinds of games and he has a knack of gettting Mo involved more too

Palace are quite an athletic team with lots of pace on the break, I think those types of teams aren't ideal for Elliot as he's a bit too easily dispossessed or forced into errors, and then doesn't have the pace to get back.

Great news about Alisson being back.

Best of luck to Quansah on another league start if that news is true that he's playing. Palace should be a good game for him, they aren't frightening in attack by any means and alongside VVD I'd tip him to have a good game.
