He has been brilliant and will always be welcome at Anfield

But I think a fresh start is needed, the man doesn't want the job.

Lets leave Purslow up to NESV whether they want him or not

If he stays I will respect the decision and give him a second chance

What a birthday present!

One to remember.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Speaking outside the High Court to Sky Sports News, Broughton said: "The board will be properly reconstituted by eight o'clock this evening, that was the judge's order, and proceed with the sale process.

"But the club's going to have a great future. We will re-establish the right basis for the club.

"The acquisition debt that has been plaguing us will be gone, we have a great future. We will get the right owners for the fans."

look at the use of the words "us" and "we".  I think he's feeling like he's part of the club.

excellent job selling the club martin - did what you came to do and did it in style.

definitely don't want him staying though - we need strong and intelligent leadership at this club, not someone who'll bow to media pressure and then justify his decisions by media reaction.

new start is needed throughout the club - new owners, new chairman, new CEO, new manager.

This.

He did his job VERY well as it turns out. Apparently NESV were interested prior to his involvement but he still played a blinder so far as beating the snakes at their own game. i for one am greatful. He can go back to Stamford Bridge with his head held high. And i hope he comes back to Anfield when we play Chelsea next. And leaves feeling very unhappy  ;D

Good job done, not quite completed yet.

When he's finished expect he'll go back to his main job, and continue supporting his "beloved" Chelsea. I can see him getting a plum job with the Premier League or the FA when he's ready to leave BA.

As for permanent Chairman of LFC, no thanks, but a big thank you for helping to rid us of H & G.

He's played a blinder but Liverpool chairman shouldn't be bumping shoulders with Terry&co at Chelsea end of season do's, I'm sure he will move on since his role has been completed.

To be honest, he has bigger fish to fry at a massive PLC in British Airways. More challenges for him I think.

Put this way, I'd get a pint if he was in the pub.

Oh and according to sources on twitter, Broughton didnt actually approach the new Yanks himself - their interest precedes his tenure.

He's done a neat job in stuffing Hicks and Gilett, I'll give him that.

Fact is though he is done here.

Goodbye and Thanks Martin.

I believe businessmen will always put 'doing a good job' miles before supporting a football team. You dont get to the top of your game allowing things like supporting a club to get in your way.

Just hope he has picked the right owners and did his research in NESV.
