Nasty challenge. Can only hope VVD is alright.

Pickford :no

Any news on VVD?

We will be very lucky if that's 4 to 6 weeks. That gormless c*nt with a horrific challenge. Evertonians will be building Pickford a statue as we speak.

seemed to be his knee. hopefully not too serious. might be just precautionary. disgraceful decision not to send him off. someone needs to leave an elbow into his jaw on a corner before this game is out.

Always looks worse in slow motion but the angle from behind the goal makes me worry about what’s happened to his knee.

With 75kg hitting his knee with a planted foot like that, that could have been much worse.

Looked really bad. Typical look of an ACL injury. Hopefully he gets lucky and escape with just a minor problem.

I reckon more likely to be medial. You can walk with an ACL, but he walked (albeit gingerly) to the dressing room which gives me hope it isn't that.

He at least walked off.

He did and let's hope that's a positive indication. I recall Lucas came back on too a few years ago and then had to go off with a serious injury.

I don't like the hyperextension of the knee on contact...

Hopefully the fact he walked off means it isn't as bad as it looks
He at least walked off.

Means absolutely nothing apart from he didn't break his leg.

All this has come from the assistants following directives not to put their flag up until the ball has been played or whatever. If the flag goes up straight away, cos the lino thought it was offside, then Pickford doesn't even come for that ball. All fucking bollocks.

Yeah, Chelsea away wasn't it, in the cup? Came back on and then tried to run and went back down and couldn't continue. He was in the form of his life then too.

Klopp's words after the game.

“Virgil, it is not good,” he said, having assessed Pickford’s lunge as “not a challenge the ‘keeper can do.”

“He plays on with pain, he never misses a game. I don’t know how bad it is but it is not good.”

Wrong, medical staff will have a pretty good idea on what is wrong right now. MRI only confirms their diagnosis, it doesn't make it.

Freeze frame looks dreadful and he was down for quite a long time. In my current morbid mood I'm expecting months

Same. If it's not ACL it's a pretty big MCL/LCL injury.

I tell you what, if the player who caused the injury was forced to sit on the sidelines for the same amount of time that the player he injured is out for, you'd see a lot less of those dangerous tackles
