Roads around Liverpool and travel to the match
« on: March 2, 2018, 02:21:22 pm »
Hi guys,
My son and I are hopefully coming down from Cumbria for the game against Newcastle so just wondering if anyone has update on the state of the M6 from the north and M58 into Liverpool?
Many thanks

No snow round here.

This is useful as well.http://www.trafficengland.com/traffic-report
You say Honey? I say Fuck off.

You dont win friends with Salad

There is another option. Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple.

There's been a light covering of snow overnight. Main roads are fine though.

I’ve amended the thread title to cover all travel today.

I’m on the train from Euston and looks like Virgin trains are running ok. But I’m staying in Manchester this evening due to rip off hotel prices and wondered if the trans-pennine route has been affected.

We have 7 tickets that won't be used today. Would love to give them to some kids from the area. Whomever is taking them would need to collect paper tickets from the TO. Any suggestions?

Alan, just a heads-up.....I was looking at prices for hotels for April 14th (Bournemouth at home, plus Hillsborough anniversary) and the Marriott was charging £394 for a standard room!!! Eye-watering that.

So I went on AirBnB.

Much, much better. £60 for a double room to myself for TWO nights, just one other person in the house, stone's throw from St Michael's station, which would take you straight to Sandhills :wave

Worth considering, people. Fuck the hotels and their parasitic attitudes.

That’s not bad. I’m up for Bournemouth Jim but already have a hotel booked.

Trains from Euston are running. Got an earlier train and it’s almost empty.

I was in Birmingham last night and my coach home was cancelled. Luckily the trains were running so I got a ticket for that. Snow stops at Crewe and Liverpool's pavements/roads are dry and snow-free (apart from a few tiny patches in corners where it has blown).

I live in Anfield - nothing here now

Birmingham feels like a parallel universe compared to Liverpool! :D My trip was a bit of an expedition for someone who hates snow & ice!!

We came up Friday evening.  First Virgin train broke down.  Rescue Virgin train got a smashed windscreen and had to be withdrawn.  All other trains overtook us while we were stuck.  Eventually arrived by taxi at 03:20am, 5 hours late!
